Looks like both PS4 and xbo will be getting official price cuts soon. No way can PS4 stay $399 till August like Pezus expects. It has 3 free games with it right now, and is not setting Amazon on fire.

Or maybe slim revisions. Either way, PS4 needs $349 and xbo needs $299.

The PS4 was up to 4th. Even without all the extra games being sold it was still hanging out in the top 10. I don't really think Sony feels pressured to drop the price based on current sales trends. It's not facing a situation where it has to do anything.

The PS4 was up to 4th, but that was just a peak. So far for the month total it's at #6. Last year for March it was #1. For February this year it was #10. Last year it was #3. From the 20.2 announcement we know it's been doing good these past few months compared to last year, but it's not a big YOY increase.

It doesn't have to do anything, but sitting back and milking the situation will just kill the PS4's momentum. Summer is going to be comparatively really bad if it's still $399.

You know, PSTV might sell if it actually had some good streaming apps? No netfix? no HBOGO WFT. Now i'm looking into a fire tv or and apple tv. And i much rather buy the vita tv but nooo... Sony had to go a fudge that up.

Yeah it gosh darn sucks with vita tv. So much potential to at least be a good niche product, but nope!

Kinda makes you wonder, are they still shipping the AC:U bundle or is all of that holiday stock?

well its really not that simple. some stores would have probably ran low on stock, while others ordered higher shipments, and vise versa. each store has a different situation, one might have seen demand being higher than supply and others might have saw supply lower than anticipated. i really really doubt that ZERO shipments have been made, it doesnt make sense.

however if we are talking about the majority of the stock, i really wonder, have MS really shipped that much in Q4 to cover up mostly for Q1? are MS still producing the AC bundle? because i dont see it going away soon, unless they replace it with another bundle

nothing is gonna set amazon on fire, the cards are gonna get tougher and tougher to beat once the install base keeps growing and growing.

Last year was also experiencing launch hysteria. You have to take that into account. The console was hard to find so demand was inflated. Also, Xbox One took away some of the edge by dropping in price by $150 compared to what it was this time last year. In addition, as the install base increases for all devices, accessories and games will increasingly make their way into the top spots. The situation this time is different than it was a year ago. Hardware would have to sell super high to find itself even in the top five spots for the month. Plus, only the UK and US are areas in which the PS4 is in a competitive environment. It's pretty much steamrolling elsewhere. I expect the earliest Sony will announce a price drop is E3. The PS4 has a lot of games between now and the holidays to keep momentum up. Not only does it have quite a few exclusives just in retail announced for this year but some of the biggest third party games releasing this year are being more associated with PS4. I think it'll be fine, broseph. Some of us around here were saying Sony needs to drop the price during the last holiday season but it turns out the PS4 was still able to win NPD afterwards while not dropping the price. It even beat the X1 in the UK for the holidays overall.

Want to bet that PS4 won't drop in price until August at the earliest??
