Nice Zelda boost for 3DS, PS4 keeps on climbing

I was wondering what caused the bump.

Geeze almost 60k total for 3DS. Makes everything else look pitiful.

Xb1 at 191, TV at 588 is pitiful. Everything else is just bad

Looks like the PS4 is picking up in Japan, looking way better than what sales last year suggested, that makes me happy, cause it's going to attract more devs.

I really hope Persona 5 comes in the summer in Japan, helping the summer drought (and also because it raises the chance of a 2015 release in the west) and that the Level 5 game that's going to be announced at E3 is the one that the producer called "bigger than Yokai Watch", cause that's supposed to be a 2015 title as well and should therefore help in the holidays. FF XV at the end of the year would of course be the final kicker.

Also: Give me DQ XI on PS4 please!!

If all of those games came to PS4 soon then it would do so well. It could re-vitalise home console gaming in Japan

I don't see how that's a good thing.

We can only hope, Japan has so many great developers but they've fallen so far behind the west in development for the home screen because all the japanese care for is handheld or mobile gaming and I hate both of these things.

Give me a home console JRPG renaissance Japan :(

Spam post.

Just can't let it go over an hour without any posts.

Cute Pikachu

ehh I still think it'll depend on how games like XCX do to determine a possible JRPGs rennisance

Ps4 triple Wii U. It was obvious it always going to catch it. The ps4 never hit those lows Wii U had.

I think I agree with what that one dude in the COMG thread said about this, XCX's success potential is limited simply because it is pretty much the only JRPG on the Wii U, other than that one could maybe count DQ X though that's a little tricky because it's a MMO and then maybe FE x SMT if it ever actually comes out.
Japanese gamers in general seem a lot more informed than western gamers, so I believe that many people will think twice about getting a Wii U for one JRPG, some will still do it but not a lot, that leaves the game with the Nintendo home console audience in Japan, which hasn't really massively cared for (or gotten any actually) JRPGs since the SNES, so that really limits this games selling potential, it might outsell the first but still.

The market for home console JRPGs is almost excusively on PS in Japan currently, so for that genre to make a comeback on home consoles, the PS4 seems like the logical starting point, though PS4/Wii U multiplats wouldn't be stupid either. But first and foremost there need to be some companies that actually have the balls to invest in new JRPG projects for console, things that don't necessarily have to be FF or DQ big but definitely something that's bigger than all those Anime-Girl-JRPGs that appeal to only a very niche audience and have essentially no appeal outside of Japan.
Something comparable in project size to maybe the recently released Legend of Legacy, if that makes sense.

That turned out longer than expected, I get passionate when it comes to JRPGs and the japanese games industry, so much unutilized potential there it drives me insane. :D

Btw.: Not totally sales related but Sonys stock has gone over $28 today, highest since May 2011.

Bloodborne moving up a lot on Amazon US. Collector's Edition in 44th. Standard in 85th. Well ahead of where The Order was sitting around the same relative time prior to release. I'm thinking Bloodborne will actually outsell The Order despite appearing less marketable and more hardcore.

Yay now I'm not the only one thinking bloodborne will sell great!

Well the poor reviews have definitely dampend The Orders sales potential.
