Video Game Sales Thread

Netflix doesn't get many of the movie theater releases,.. especially at the time it hits disc.   I'm not subbing to all 12 services I'd need to sub to in order to get access to everything my library gets access to.

I use my library a lot, they're an amazing service.

Doesn't mean they're popular compared to streaming.

Too be honest, after reading Nintendo's ... whatever their online buying thingy is, fudge digital.  shame disappearing off of online streaming sites, content owners (movie publishers) just pulling stuff off of their streaming platform for, no reason, I guarantee Sony would have killed PS3 downloads eventually if there wasn't a justified pushback (Just like Nintendo does).  I bought The Last of Us TV show on 4k bluray, no 4k bluray player, but fudge streaming.  

I'd love to buy more games and movies, but streaming is cheap.

I stream more than I use my library but when it came time to buy a PS5 I was very set in my decision to buy the one with the disc drive because of the option to play movies rented from the library and the option to play my ~500 DVDs.  

next gen,.. if available I will still buy the one with a disc drive.  same reason.  I want the option to play movies.

PlayStation 5 remained the best-selling hardware platform in both unit and dollar sales during September 2023, with Xbox Series again ranking 2nd across both measures.

probably not really. 
1. it's the 3rd spiderman on the system
2. ps5 is basically a mega system seller without any particular game so not sure you'll see so much of a MoM bump.

i guess i'm just saying this will be more of a reason as to why ps5 will remain elevated all year long moreso than a huge spike.

This is the first one that is exclusive. Miles was on PS4.

Seems like it. Terrible numbers everywhere but the US, where it is crashing too. Hm

Just had a look at VGChartz yearly estimates where as of the end of November PS5 is at almost 18m and XBS is just over 5.5m for the year 2023?!

Based on that PS5 should sell around 23m+ and XBS maybe like 7-7.5m? That's a huge difference

PS5 376% increase
XSX 26% decrease

P + X + S = 690,000 (these are the 2022 numbers)

4.76P + 0.74X + 0.65S = 1,300,000 (these are the 2023 numbers)

2P = S (the switch outsold the PS slightly >2:1 in 2022)
