Quote from: Kerotan on Nov 22, 2018, 05:54 PMAmazon is very biased towards Nintendo over Sony. Its definitely less then you think.

Not trolling Pokémon but isn't it amazing that a god of war game launched higher then Pokémon in 2018. Yeah Pokémon will sell better but in the past GOW wouldn't have come anywhere close yet alone beat its launch. Times are changing.
Yes amazon is biased slightly to nintendo, especially in america, but I don't think its so much in the UK.

God of War had an incredible launch, no doubt, but this is the weakest pokemon launch in a long time and every launch after this will be stronger as well. It will be interesting to see if GOW sequels can keep it up and make it remain a top franchise. Although Pokemon is almost annual, while GOW will be every few years at best.

Because Amazon's yearly ranking should inform you about how representative Amazon's ranking is right now.

If their yearly ranking is miles away from the reality of the market, why would their current ranking be more useful in assessing the market?

Holy shame the PS4 deals are disastrous. Only £30 off. Jesus. I got a better deal 2 years ago!

£219 for a PS4 Slim 500GB with fifa, RDR2, COD or Spidey, or £269 for 1TB with Spider-Man or fifa. That's just £30 off the standard prices. Best deals are more expensive combination ones, for only £10 extra you can add fortnite deep freeze, battleborn and LBP3 to the fifa PS4. Although not sure why anyone would want battleborn or LBP3. Seems like the overall best deal is slim 1TB with fifa, RDR2 and Doom for £290, but that's basically £90 more than equivalent XB1 deal :-\

Compare that to £179 for an XB1S 1TB with Tomb Raider/ FH4/ Minecraft, or £199 for XB1S 1TB with three games BFV/FH4 and Fallout 76, Spyro or FH4 and Spyro with an extra controller. Those are all £70+ off.

Ouchies, PS4 is going to get absolutely wrecked here this week.

Oh wow that FH4 1TB bundle is £169 on amazon. That's going to dominate BF on amazon if that sticks around.

I got my PS4 Slim 1TB two years ago with COD infinite warfare legacy edition (so with MW:R) for £229. Literally £40 CHEAPER than the best deals today. TWO YEARS AGO. What on Earth are Sony even doing here?

Xev there's a reason xbox deals are so much lower then ps4. Because they have to be to even compete. Again you are going on like Xbox has been a total fudgy shame show the last 8 years. If they have the similar deals they get destroyed. Simple as.

Then why are they the same in the US? I'm just saying that Sony are really dropping the ball in the UK. MS continue to provide good deals, while PS4 deals here are literally £40 worse than two years ago. And that has nothing to do with xbox, the ps4 deals this year are terrible and I'd have said that no matter what xbox did.

And also you talk like they know what each are going to do, like MS make their deals according to what Sony have, but that isn't what happens. They both make their own deals according to their own expectations. You said Sony were being pro consumer by offering such good deals in the US, so by the same logic they're being anti consumer by offering a big fat sour apple in the UK on black friday.

Lol, maybe. We don't know how hardware has been moving in the UK this year, maybe they sold enough they feel they don't need to do Black Friday. Anyway, I guess Sony's fiscal report is making sense now, they're reducing promotions across the world except for in the US it would seem.

Wouldn't surprise me if PS4 is extremely down YOY here, and despite it being up YOY in America its still probably going to be 2M+ down YOY WW like their prediction states.

Lol, I've never been one to try and take advantage of price errors. Especially in person, I'm no good at that shame!

The black Friday thread on ERA?

No matter what the situation is though, I don't get why Sony are so aggressive in the US yet are doing basically nothing in the UK. In terms of competition with xbox, they're both extremely similar, so surely its not that? Overall market health and general sales, PS4 has performed about the same in relative terms in the UK and US too. Its just really weird to see $100 off with a game in the US compared to £30 off in the UK.
