Yeah Chris notes that it had really bad stock problems and you add in what seems like a large digital amount and it could possibly be top 3 debuts for the series(despite being the smallest install base for a Pokémon game). It's  an excellent result.

Top 3 since HG/SS anyway :P

The DS and 3DS era are the biggest debuts for the franchise. Pokémon Let's Go with a small digital of 10% is over 130k. I honestly think it did similar to ORAS.

Yeah but I imagine Diamond/ Pearl was a huge launch, there might be others earlier which were bigger as well. With stock issues, digital will be higher than normal for switch games as well.

Just saw a reddit post of a guy who's bought himself a console for the first time with the PS4 Spidey bundle. He got that plus Uncharted NDC, Uncharted 4, The Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn all for less than $300, sounds like he just couldn't pass up that deal as he'd wanted to play all these exclusives for a long time. Sony have really nailed their BF strategy, they could probably sell multiple millions if they shipped that much.

I agree sony has killed it

Well Fallout didn't do bad compared to other releases, but it's certainly not good specially compared to fallout 4.

It was never going to do numbers like a main fallout game but I bet this is bellow expectations from Bethesda

Red dead doing amazing so far, hopefully it's up next week which is most likely, and it can continue to have great legs throughout the holidays. It's almost doubled it launch week numbers now and this holiday is really important for it's legs and overall lifetime sales.

Exclusives are what sells consoles and they have lots of quality exclusives to sell now. Being able to pick up PS4 with 6+ amazing games you can't play on other consoles for so cheap is just such a good deal, so much better than selling it with multiplats.

Nintendo get this too with their pushing of their own exclusives on BF and around Christmas. I think this is one of the reasons that MS has fallen behind a bit.

Yeah that's why I said its actually better than I expected. It doesn't seem like they spent much money making 76, so I imagine they'll make some money and be fine with it.

It'd be great if Red Dead ended as the year's top selling game. Basically just has fifa to compete with.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (No.9) sales increased 94 per cent, Super Mario Party (No.18) sales were up 25 per cent, Super Mario Odyssey (no.19) rose 30 per cent (No.19) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (No.28) saw a 52 per cent sales spike.

Just Dance 2019 enjoyed a 465% sales leap - rising from No.39 to No.14 - primarily due to the Switch version. The game was included in a Switch hardware bundle that also included Pokémon.

Safe to say Switch sold very well this week.

Biggest Launches for Switch So Far:
Pokémon Let's Go: 120k
Mario Odyssey: 85k
Mario Kart 8D: >70k
Breath of the Wild: 70k
Splatoon 2: 28k

Smash Bros Ultimate will do at least 80k and probably have a debut similar to Let's Go in my opinion.

I'm expecting Smash to beat Let's Go, people love Smash.

Wow I expected bigger openings. But install base was still low. If Pokémon did 120k smash will do more.

120k is actually really really good though, that's more than horizon, close to halo (140k) I think

Yep its a bit more than Horizon. Only particularly huge games launch bigger than around 150k in the UK, and pokemon has never been that big here. Its a popular series of course but its never been massive in terms of sales. I was expecting this game to launch around US/UM numbers (around 80k) so this, to me, is great. With BF next week it should have a very small drop too.

Brawl had a 75k debut on Wii. Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if it doubled that with digital first weekend. It's gonna be the switch's Spider-Man.

Pokémon does really well in the UK but isn't FIFA or COD massive, however, sun and moon was gigantic, they did 300k first weekend physical only.

This in my opinion bodes well for Gen 8 which will have a humongous(like possibly 200k+) debut.

Also Xev
USUM did like 65k. It didn't do that well, but worldwide it's about to become the best selling third version.

Sun and Moon is the only one that managed that though, it would be awesome if pokemon could reach 200k+ again but I'm not going to bet on it.

Huh I didn't realise it was selling that well worldwide, although third versions have never been that big selling anyway. We can see it sold better first week in the UK than platinum and black/white 2, so it kinda makes sense.
