lol priceless verbal artistry I laughed so hard reading this:
QuoteThe wheels are coming off this announcement already, to an extent; "exclusive" in this instance seems to mean "timed exclusive", it's just that all of the mealy-mouthed managers talking about the deal have been carefully coached not to say "timed", not to give any indication about timings, and if possible, to demonstrate an astonished lack of understanding of the basic concept of time itself, and to react like a caveman presented with an iPhone at the mere sight of a wristwatch or a calendar.

There's a lot of hoping and wishing from the xbox fan base that this won't come to ps4, hate to break it to ya, but its coming and soon than you think.

I'm not interested in it TBH, and couldn't care less if it ever came to ps4 ever :P

The reboot was a fun game.

I'm not hyped for the new one at all, but when it comes out I do think I'll enjoy it.

I find it funny how Tomb Raider has escaped these sexism controversies that have popped up lately. Ubisoft catches fire for not having a playable female character in Unity even though they made an entire AC game around a non-white female lead. Yet ever since Tomb Raider began the main character has been a busty, white female.

Yeah it's weird. AC is not an RPG. It would be strange if you could choose a character.

They are reading far too much to what Spencer said. First off he said similar to DR3 not exactly like DR3. And I still wouldn't rule out that coming to ps4 in some form. It's still been less than a year since it's release. Also, he says partnering with Se /cd to publish the game and think that means MS is publishing it in some way. But thats not at all what it says. It says Se/cd is publishing it and Ms is partnering with them. That simple. In fact, Ms said the website was a mistake that said Ms was publishing the game and removed it.

Tomb Raider never got off, if anything it was very controversial back in the heyday.  Now I guess its fine since her bust went from DD to B it's all okay.

I'm talking about today and how it apparently isn't sexist or racist that every Tomb Raider game has had a white female lead. The sexism argument back then was simply about her two natural pines. They don't actually give a shame that, by their logic, Tomb Raider is sexist for always featuring a female lead. Yet Ubisoft has actually featured a female lead in one Assassin's Creed game but they're sexist because they chose to not make a playable female assassin in Unity?

I think that the whole sexism issue is just stupid. If a game is an RPG where you can create your own character then sure there should be options to fit everyone's tastes and preferences. However, if there is no option to create a character then that character is made by the dev to fit the story/game. Its not like they choose not to make a female character on purpose, its just a male character fits that role better etc.

If there is ever a case where a dev choses to make a male character simply because they don't like women/ don't want to make one etc. then that is an issue, however, I can't think when that's ever happened

Exactly. They're just trying to force a developer to abandon its creative freedom because they're of the belief that everything should be 100% equal. The problem with that is that this is not life. This is not some important social arena. Video games are creative works. Someone deciding that they want all of their games to feature male protagonists is their freedom of expression. It is their own creation. It is their right. This is not on the level of a woman being denied a job because she's a woman or being denied a government seat.

You can't even argue about why it's fair based on community percentages. The majority of video game developers are men. The majority of professional gamers are men. The majority of gamers who drive core sales are men. Women may be increasingly involved in video games but in my experience that involvement is very limited when it comes to core gaming and usually revolves around rather casual games. Even the majority of social games like MMORPGs are predominantly played by men.

What really pisses me off is that many of these feminazis and vag beggars don't even buy into the franchises they're pissing and moaning about. They're only complaining because they think they have a right to complain about it. They're not even people who purchase these games who could vote with their money by not buying the next one. Yet they act entitled to a voice where they force the developer to abandon its own creative work in order to get them to acknowledge their own social angst.

Women have been a huge part of games. The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham, Okami, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Metroid, Silent Hill... these are just some of the bigger franchises and/or games that have featured a strong playable female character for at least parts of the game but many of them have had entire games where a female was the lead. Metroid and Tomb Raider are long running franchises where the main character is always female. This doesn't even count the games like Mass Effect where you can choose your gender nor does it count games where there really isn't a lead character such as fighting games. Fighting games, by the way, have exploded with female characters. This still isn't even including the non-playable female characters who played big roles in games even up to being the main villain.

Exactly, its just a stupid debate and thank god its not causing anything to change
