Oh. I missed some of the pre-show, so that explains it. It still should've gotten the conference treatment.

God of war, spiderman, days gone, uncharted, horizon, and sotc all looked really great. Detroit looked good too.
Spider-man has become my most hyped game for next year.

People on GAF were complaining about the physics.

Insomniac's Spider-Man swinging compared to previous games - NeoGAF

QuoteI'm probably way off base comparing a few minutes of this Insomniac Spider-Man game to previous games but I don't get how Insomniac's Spider-Man swinging is looking worse than Beenox's Amazing Spider-Man (2012) swinging or even Treyarch's Spider-Man 2 (2004) swinging, which also had the cool wind audio.
 2004/
 2012/
 2017-8/
There's no wild momentum, it all seems like one speed, and so makes it feel slow to get going much like Sunset Overdrive I guess. Insomniac could have just hired Jamie Fristrom (the creator of Spiderman 2 swinging) to design the swinging gamefeel.
Maybe the swinging of this new game will look way better when it's not happening as part of a heavily QTE-based chase and instead just swinging for fun so you can see the big arcs and momentum. It's just that this presentation gave me not the best first impression, and first impressions count for a lot. I would have preferred just to see the swinging by itself first and then go into a mission like Beenox did for Amazing Spider-Man at E3 2012.
I'm probably alone in this worry because most people seem very positive on the new game and thought this was one of the best games shown at Sony's E3 2017 conference, so feel free to disagree.

I thought it looked great. I didn't care for spiderman but this gameplay got me hyped.

Does anyone know, if Days Gone and/or Detroit will appear on stream in some form during E3 so we can maybe find out when we can expect these dang games?

I've tried and failed to find the Live at E3 sony schedule.

So I'm not just to stupid to find it, good to know. Maybe they'll only show it during the stream itself, cause naturally that's the smartest and most convenient way of doing this -.-

I have definitely seen the schedule, probably on gaf somewhere.

I have to say though that I'm pretty happy with the announcement of SotC Remake, I never played the original but after playing and enjoying TLG, I'm definitely interested, so this comes pretty much at the perfect time. Plus I trust that Bluepoint will deliver with this both in terms of quality and in terms of release window, I could actually see this coming out earlier than expected (possibly before next years E3?).

Did you learn nothing yesterday?  ::)

Well it is Bluepoint, they are good at what they are doing (even though this seems like more than they've ever done before) and Sonys remasters/remakes tend to come out a lot sooner than their new games (aren't all the remasters they announced last PSX out already for instance?). Let me keep some hope at least. :D

Horizon

Sigh where to start.

I am REALLY ambivalent about this conference for so many reasons. I feel Sony had the two best games of the show in God Of War and Spiderman which quite frankly to me both looked absolutely incredible. I was also impressed with Days Gone,Uncharted and Horizon. Like how efficient are Guerrilla to have a new DLC out by the end of the year? Blimey. I thought all their first party games showed extremely well and looked a tier above Xbox's. The Shadow of the Colossus remake is cool I have never played it so I am interested. I am also puzzled why Knack, Ni No Kuni, Dreams, Crash etc were not included in the show as it felt very short. Also the lack of release dates was disappointing.

I cannot blame Sony for showing the same games again as they are still in the pipeline and would it make sense to show some more exclusives when some big ones are not even out yet? No, but I also think they should know by now E3 is all about the big announcements and no tease from Sucker Punch or a another project in the works was a let down. There was an air of complacency as they did not even show stuff like Battlefront 2 single player which I thought was a guarantee tbh. Could they be trying to split their content for PSX? That is a possibility and Sony attend more than one conference every year which Xbox does not for the most part.

I was also stunned by no new VR games from Santa Monica, Manchester and London studio. The VR games shown were solid but Santa Monica confirmed they had a VR project in the works and Manchester studio have been working on their game for over 2 years now.In hindsight Sony could have saved Spiderman or Days Gone for this E3 to be announced and this conference would have had a bigger impact. They had 2 amazing conferences and I know they cannot have a megaton every year but with TLOU Part 2 being announced at PSX I was sure they had a big announcement for E3 but alas they did not, maybe that should have been saved for E3.

This E3 has been underwhelming for announcements but I understand some devs are just not ready and E3 2018 will be much better when a dozen devs will be ready show their games. Despite this I think most of the games especially at Sony's and Ubisoft's have shown incredibly well.

Onto TGS and PSX.
