I want to play GT1 and GT2.

I hate not having to start from the first game in a series and miss out on all earlier titles.

Lol. Gt though... It's not even remotely necessary. Play gt6 and then Sport  ;)

Nah.

It irks me when I miss out on a game from a series.

Its called being a Enthusiast :p

Especially when it comes to gaming. I rather spend time playing games than arguing sales talk about a faceless corporation on a dying forum :p.

Exactly.  The sooner people realise those of us who frequent online gaming forums are not your average player the better.

I agree with Sony's comments because they're fact.  Do I want BC?  Sure I'd dabble with it for a bit.  Do I think they can do ps3 emulation?  Nope.

I think they should focus on getting as many ps1 and PS2 titles on the ps4 and make every purchase on the platform BC with the ps5/ps6 etc. And considering the architecture they now use it should be doable.

He isnt saying OCD because of b/c just to let you know.

There's far more people I know that dont even frequent forums and still consider b/c a huge selling point. Its one of the biggest reasons why the PS2 and Nintendo DS sold so well alongside other reasons.

For someone to put b/c aside because some rep from a company says so, you gotta be a corporate lapdog or something.

People dont use b/c all the time because like there are multiple platforms to play on, people dont play one console all the time unlike some people who rather close themselves to one platform, who are the real niche :p

Why do you agree with Sony's comments btw and no they are not fact, its an opinion put out to push an agenda, aka PR. I dont see how it can benefit you especially if you are a consumer.

Be honest, how does it benefit you?

Do you work for them or something? lol. You gotta be working for them or just a corporate shrill who agrees with everything they say.

Kinda like the nintendo fans on sites like VGChartz who gobble up whatever bone is thrown at them. Kinda sad imo.

Its pretty moronic for someone to actually be against b/c when its actually a fantastic and positive feature. There are no drawbacks, no cons about it.

The real reason why corporations like Sony wont support b/c isnt because there's no interest in it or because a low amount of people use it. Its actually all about the money.

The real reason why they are against b/c is why support b/c when you can charge people again for the same games through a secondary medium. Cough PS2 PSN classics on PS4 for horrendous prices or the horrendous service known as PSNow.

I wouldnt be surprised if the next Playstation doesnt support b/c of whatever comes out on PS4 but instead focuses on re-releases and redistribution like whats been happening now. When you have people willing to buy games of yesteryear again, they'll continue to push out the idea but only in a way where they will actually earn money from. #ForTheMoney xD

Well the real reason is that the architecture is different. Being able to resell old games has always been a thing

Really? I dont remember having to re-buy Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics and Chrono Cross since both my PS2 and PS3 can play them. ::)

Seriously speaking, its all about the money - so of course they'll re-sell them and advertise like its something new. "Few people play b/c because their old games!", if thats their argument, why even dabble in re-releasing older games and reselling them if they dont think people play them? l0l

I mean, not saying Sony should do this or that or else - they can do what they want since its their platform, but as a consumer, you dont have to be a "Yes" man to everything they spout out. This is generally speaking of course.

My point is simple.  We are not normal.  I wasn't even thinking about the OCD thing.  The fact is BC will be used by a small niniche.  Is it even possible to emulate ps3 properly on ps4? If not then why would sony even consider it.

Would I like BC?  Yes
Would I use it?  Barely because I'm in the business of playing new titles and my backlog needs to be cleared

Should they try get BC on ps5? Yes all software bought on ps4 should work.

Why should they bother?  Because the x86 architecture should be easy to make compatible unlike the ps3.

So any ps1/ps2/ps3 tittitles released on ps4 you bought or ps4 titles should work on ps5. I expect that and I expect it because technically it should be wtstraightforward.  not because it's a massive selling point because it's not.

I think its one of those features that would just be good to have. Lots of people will use it every now and then, and surely it would help sell consoles.

With PS4's architecture, PS5 BC should be easier to do. But nah, they want to make money of PS Now >:(
