It has been over a year since Uncharted 4 has been released.  It should hopefully be enough time to give more "objective" opinions on the Uncharted franchise.
Which game was the best?  Which game was the worst?
Do you wish there would be a 5th game?

It's been quite the ride.

Best: Uncharted 4 hands down
Second Best: Uncharted 2
Third Best: Uncharted 3
Worst: Uncharted 1

AND hell yeah I wish there would be a fifth and a sixth and a seventh and on and on and on!!!!!!!!!

Uncharted 1: 84/100 it hasn't aged well in terms of gameplay but was excellent for ND's first crack at a game like this. It has a decent story, well varied locations and good pacing.

Uncharted 2: 97/100 firmly in my top 10 games of all time, everything was a massive improvement over the first game. Best story in the series with by far the best pacing and locations. Set pieces are excellent too.

Uncharted 3: 92/100 Not as good of a story and pacing not quite as good as the second game. However it managed to be just as good/ better in pretty much every other aspect so it still scores very highly for me.

Uncharted 4 95/100 By far the best gameplay of the series, jawdropping graphics and locations with a great story. No supernatural battleship as well! Set pieces were a little bit lacking and I think too long was spent on the final island. Also I think there was a bit too much emphasis on stealth. For these reasons it falls short of #2 for me.

Poor Golden Abyss :(

I'm happy with Lost Legacy for now. #4 was a perfect ending for the series so I don't know how I'd feel about it carrying on.

First Uncharted was fantastic.  A nice change of pace for the industry as there wasn't much in terms of its style.  It was also a solid action game, and one of the more difficult titles of its genre.

Uncharted 2 is the literal definition of a masterpiece.  Best of the series? As an overall package, yes.

Uncharted 3 has the best game play in the series.  They took the "World is an object" gameplay from the first game and threw it on its head (Literally).  The entire progression from how the game starts and just layering different gameplay mechanics and other concepts as you play.  There's very few games that still do that to this day, and there honestly isn't a 3rd person shooter that has gun play this exciting.  Platforming while shooting, having the world move around while you're shooting, under water mechanics, everything just culminates together in what I consider the greatest shooter (In terms of gameplay).  Story on the other hand...

Uncharted Golden Abyss was an impressive title for the Vita.  Looks better than the first Uncharted.  Has a fun story, and overall plays solid.

Uncharted 4, where to begin.  It was a disappointment.  Not because it was bad, not because the writing was terrible (Story's a lot more coherent than Uncharted 3), but because it was just "average" in terms of the rest of the series.  All the world as an object gameplay was gone and no where to be found.  Underwater gun fights were reduced to almost being gone.  Extra supernatural gameplay near the end that made you play differently was gone.  The story was well told luckily enough.  Though it was missing "punch" in terms of its scope.  I respect the treasure hunt of the story, but it never really evolves from that and the back story is almost tacked on (Though necessary).  Repeatedly humiliating Nadine was also a stupid mistake.  Ultimately; Uncharted 4 delivers a well polished game with some bright spots, but its easy to tell decisions were made to get the game built on a tight time line.  Gameplay doesn't vary much and becomes repetitive.  But its story was well told and heart warming.  A nice ending for a franchise that helped mold last gen, and will hopefully mold games to come.

I give the series a "$599.99" rating.  It's worth buying a PS3 at launch for the thing.
