This comes off more as a fanfic than a rumor.
Sounds right.  They did this on ps3.  Hope the censorship part is wrong

It's crazy to me that some people think TLOU Part 2 is a 2019 game.  Why in the world would they announce a game that's potentially 3ish years out, they are not that stupid.  Spring/Summer 2018 is more realistic.

And its been in development for 2 years.

Eh, I truly wouldn't bet on that. I'm personally hoping for holiday 2018 but I could easily see the game not coming until 2019 either. Keep in mind that UC4 was originally announced in November of 2013, 2 years before it was supposed to come out and 2 1/2 years before it actually came out.

Yeah but summer 2018 would be a year and a half and it's not gonna have the problems  UC4 had like the amy hennig problem and Neil and Bruce taking over and having reshoots of mocap and cinematics because Todd Stashwick left and troy baker took over.   Summer 2018 is absolutely doable.

This is confirmed?  I haven't watched the panel for it if that's where they said that.

Yes, that scene from the trailer was shot two years ago. they talked about it during the panel .

That's awesome then.  It's absolutely gonna be summer 2018 then.  3 and a half to 4 years of development all together.

They wouldn't go out of their way to tell people how early this game is in development, if they were aiming at a summer 2018 release.

Uncharted 4 was revealed with a CGI teaser, was their first PS4 title, and had odd development changes.

Uncharted 1: E3 2006 reveal, Nov 2007 release-1.5 years
Uncharted 2: Dec 2008 reveal, Oct 2009 release-1 year
Uncharted 3: Dec 2010 reveal, Nov 2011 release-1 year
TLOU: Dec 2011 reveal, June 2013 release-1.5 years
Uncharted 4: Nov 2013 reveal, May 2016 release-2.5 years

U4 is not like the others. I'd bet 1.5 or 2 years max for TLOU2. Summer 2018 lock it in!

That's the thing they want people to not get hopes up about 2017 at all cause people would definitely get their hopes up. A year and half left is still considered early development.   i think you underestimate how much can be done in a year and a half.  Thats usually when games usually go into full blown production development. Especially since it's definitely been in development for 2 years already.

They probably completely seized development on this for a good chunk of that time. they had everyone in the studio on UC4 for months and after that game launched they started work on its DLC, which seems more substantial than expected.

Yeah I'm pretty sure ND get to decide when they announce their games and they aren't gonna announce way too early just for the sake of it.   UC4 was probably the only time they ever really had bigger problems happen in development.  Most of their games have 2 to 3 years of development time.

they have well over 200 people working their I think.  Even having 30-40 people working on the game for a year or two they can have a shame ton of environments and story concepted and blocked out easily.  That's how they typically work now.  A large chunk works on the game releasing soon while a small part do pre production for the following games.

I think you're overestimating Sony. Where was the same warning for Dreams or Detroit Become Human? And like I said above, development probably halted for a lot of these two years. Seriously guys don't whip yourself into a frenzy expecting a summer 2018 release here.

Because it's Sony

Summer 2018-Spring 2019 is the release window, the latter being more likely.
