Quote from: BananaKing on Apr 11, 2017, 12:11 PMhow on earth do they have the right to do so? and how on earth do they have the right to forcefully beat a man and remove him from a plain after he legally BOUGHT a ticket. i hope this man sues the living hell out of them for millions.
They didn't forcefully beat a man according to the story in the OP.

He could probably sue for them using excessive force still. Dragging the guy instead of carrying him is pretty stupid. Also if Pi guy's post is correct it's not technically an overbooked flight.

Does it even matter if it's legal or not? It's brutal regardless and a disgusting disregard for their customers

Pretty sure the ceo will resign soon..

Fly United, get carried away.

My new favorite.

QuoteIn an hourlong news conference that touched on race, policing and airline manners, a lawyer for the passenger dragged off a United flight on Sunday listed his client's injuries: a broken nose, a concussion, two knocked-out teeth and sinus problems that may require reconstructive surgery.

When your face gets slammed into an armrest hard enough to cause the bleeding we saw, you can bet greater damage was done than what it first appeared. Especially when you're almost 70.

Hopefully for hundred of millions

Ludicrous Speed

Both sides are to blame here. When you buy a ticket the fine print tells you that they can revoke the ticket and change your flight. The airline is at fault for being cheap. They had an emergency staff situation elsewhere and needed to fly people out so that flights didn't get canceled elsewhere. I'm pretty sure those cancelations would cost them more than the $800 in vouchers they were offering. Also, apparently this guy jumped up at the offer of $800 initially, but changed his mind when he found out there was no other flight until the next day. And of course they're guilty of excessive force as well, and will probably pay for it with millions in a settlement.

The dude should have just complied. Those are the rules you agree to when you fly. I'm sure the other passengers who were randomly selected had places to be as well but they got up. Sucks he got his dog beat but at least he'll get a fat settlement, multiple millions for sure.
