From GAF.

I found interesting... of course it is not a big budget game like Vizioneck but it give us an ideia of the overall development industry.

QuoteInterview with a Dutch national news paper for the release of the game today some info that might be new but at least thread worthy if not discussed before: (at least) €45 / ~$47 mil production cost peak team 250 people + 100 china (outsource for art I assume) 6 years in total to make incl pre-production with 20 staff. QuoteGuerrilla is the only Dutch studio playing in the Champions League of the global gaming industry. The studio makes blockbuster games "being played by millions of gamers around the world. With a production budget of more than 45 million - Guerrilla does not mention the exact amount - Horizon Zero Dawn is the largest Dutch media production ever.

QuoteIn 2013, after the publication of the fourth volume of Guerilla's Killzone series, the rest of the studio plunges on the project, 250 people in the Netherlands and another hundred in China sculpt the parts into a whole. "We talk constantly to know what everybody is doing," says Wolterbeek Muller.

/Buy me a $50 mil dutch AAA game if old.

That's pretty expensive. But considering that Death Stranding is also using their tech, it saves up on them in future projects.

But its not crazy expensive. And they don't need massive sales to be profitable. 3 million units sold could make them quit a profit in fact.

I found it low for a open world game... Gerrilha did a great work with management these 6 years.

Aura7541

That is actually pretty low. I was expecting the development costs to be around $80 million.

I thought it was 4 years O_O
That's actually really impressive for 6 years.  God of War 3 was 45 million over 4 years for comparison (The PS2 games actually cost more to make)

6 years include pre-production with 20 staff... there is no info when the full development started.

Then it might have been 4 years.  45 million falls within that time frame.
