Today Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer took to Twitter to respond to a few questions from the fans, as he often does, talking about the upcoming new iteration of the Xbox console code named "Project Scorpio," the cancellation of PlatinumGames' Scalebound and the importance of taking risks with new games.
First of all, he clarified that the upcoming Project Scorpio console will be different from a PC, and won't offer the same experience.

@XboxP3 I cant shake the feeling that the Xbox Scorpio is going to be a gaming pc made to look like a console. Please...... say it aint so ?

@XboxP3
@XMARKLIVE That's not what Scorpio is. It's a console.

@XMARKLIVE No, the console experience is different from PC imo, and XB1, XB1S, Scorpio etc are consoles.

Spencer also talked once more about the cancellation of the action RPG for Xbox One and Windows 10 Scalebound, that has been in development at PlatinumGames during the past few years, and was scheduled to be published this year by Microsoft Game Studios.  Basically, he denied that it was just a money issue.

@XboxP3 @Xbox @Scalebound I will ask you again, how much money do you need to finish the game?

@XboxP3
@Kinhdrakk Apologies but this isn't how games get built. There isn't a pour in $X and get game. Much more iterative and organic than that.

That said, he then agreed with the idea that the company needs to keep taking risks, while he admitted that right now such a statement might sound a little hollow.

@XboxP3 @aarongreenberg @Xbox please don't let your experience with Scalebound stop the company from taking risks. That's why I ❤️ Xbox

Spencer also pledged to continue working with independent studios, but mentioned that first party internal teams are critical.

@XboxP3 @xbox after the #scalebound news, it's clear now more than ever that you need to invest in 1st party studios rather than outsourcing

@DevinKyleO I won't abandon signing independent studio projects but I agree 1st party internal studios are critical.

Scalebound's cancellation was confirmed by Microsoft just two days ago, and caused a veritable uproar among fans, also fueled by uncertainty on what actually happened between the scenes.
On the day of the event, Spencer called it a "difficult decision," but he also mentioned his belief that the outcome is better for Xbox gamers.

Today both Platinum Games and Directior Hideki Kamiya commented on the cancellation of the game as well, expressing disappointment and apologizing to the fans, while promising to keep working hard on future games.

Lol... He loves MS because of risks...  I don't think he knows what he loves

He should just stop talking about bumping up exclusives. That talk has been happening since he took over yet if anything, things are worse.

Phil might be trying and actually have some huge positives set up for the future but there is no reason to believe his tweets have merit.

Similar to what I said on Chartz, I feel that Phil's position is more along the lines of co-head of Xbox marketing than head of the Xbox division. Says things fans like to hear, but at the end of the day, actions speak louder than words.

In Phil we believe.

He can be a good guy for MS business but for us gamers he always failed to deliver... I don't know how the Xbox fans can find he good for them... but hey he says what you want to head I guess even if it won't be true.
