Do you think this is what came out of Matterfall?

No. When Matterfall was announced it was also said that Project Jarvis was a different game. They were working on this and Matterfall at the same time.

What would you rate the show, guys? I'd give it an 8.5/10.

Surprises were spoiled mostly but some great trailers in there, unfortunately missing some stuff that could have been cool but still.

There was a little too much talking though I would say.

Btw. can you imagine what Sony can pull out for next E3? Trailers/Gameplay demos for God of War, Days Gone, Spiderman, TLOU 2 and with how things are going Death Stranding and maybe FF7:Remake. shame is going to be wild.

I wonder if Sony is going to switch internal devs to the Decima engine. Sucker Punch, Bend, and Japan Studio could all benefit from having a shared engine.

Plus Herman makes it sound like this engine is well documented and ready to be picked up by outsiders.

Yup.

Also just sounded like Kojima confirmed Death Stranding is open world and will have populated cities. Hulst will be in game handing the engine to the player

I think it's safe to say that Sony won PSX.

I would give the conference an 8/10.

+ Huge Japanese representation. Nier Automata, the Yakuza games, Ni No Kuni 2, Danganronpa v3, Nioh, and Gravity Rush 2 got some love. Sony should've shown Persona 5 though.
+ Good 1st party showing. Really liked the UC Lost Legacy and TLOU2 reveals. Horizon had a nice trailer, too.
+ A bunch of games like Let It Die are out now.
+ Appealed to nostalgia with Crash, Wipeout, Parappa, Locoroco, and Patapon.

- Too much talking (and coughing).
- A lot of boring 3rd party stuff.
- Who thought it was a good idea to show Tomb Raider Go on the big stage? Persona 5 should've taken its place
