Game has different graphics options for that exact reason.

I love the art style but early on it was apparent how decisive it'd be.

Nah, I think you'll learn a lot more information.  He could have just stolen someone's SSN.  
Think we'll need bank account information, mother's maiden name, maybe address, maybe some credit card information, just to be sure.
