I agree and consider 2D Mario - at least the "NEW" Super Mario Bros portion to be inferior in terms of originality and level design to the rest of the modern mario games.

Yeah I just got my wii u this Christmas so I have a back log to get through.

I'm looking forward to Kirby, Yoshi, x, zelda, splatoon, and really anything from Myamoto outside of Star Fox. I really hope that robot demo becomes a game.
