I'm glad it is.  This game will get more attention releasing in January.

Now ok, here's the thing with GR2 I can understand the delay, it would have been murdered by FFXV in early December and GR2 and TLG getting in each others way wouldn't have helped Sony either. That being said can we just fudgy finally recognise how ridiculous this has become? This is complete incompetence.

Don't give me that "It's not just Sony everybody delays games" BS, show me one publisher that planned to release 4 games in a 3 month window and then managed to delay every single one of them.

Sony will really hurt if they try this shame again next year, I'm telling you.

what a joke sony has become, 3 of their holiday titles were delayed outside of the calendar year. Horizon, GTS and Gravity Rush. and TLG was delayed within the year. really, how is this acceptable? what other publisher delays all their games like this. literally, all their games get delayed, one after the other.

Shu needs to get fired, this is just horrible management. every first party game delayed. SSM new IP cancelled, Evolution, a very talented team, spinned off, London studios having layoffs,(is it closed?), Killstrain cancelled, with every other team at san diego other than the baseball team layed off. issues at Naughty Dog causing Amy henning to leave, a lot of the work redone on Uncharted causing numerous delays. management is just shame. Shu needs to go, put somebody who can handle WWS. so much talent has been lost already, so much time wasted. compared to the late years of the PS3, Sony's out put exclusive wise is just horrid on the PS4.

Sony you fudgy arseholes I hate you I hate you I ha...

Free DLC, I love you Sony!!

It is a joke though, I do think some delays are tactical but it's getting embarrassing now. Stop announcing release dates until you're sure.

Ok, now you're just throwing stuff in there that says little to nothing to do with how good or bad Shu does his work.

SSM IP: Seriously people need to stop bringing this up as this huge injustice or misstep, we never saw the fudgy thing, chances are something was very wrong with it to get it cancelled after so much time.

Evolution: Talented yes, but they still released a broken game after having the game delayed almost a year and then took almost another year to get the PS+ version of the game out.

London Studio: Layoffs after projects finish are the norm in the gaming industry, also lets not act as if anyone is sitting around eagerly anticipating what London Studio is doing. That that studio is still around (no it wasn't closed) is way more surprising.

Killstrain/San Diego: Killstrain isn't cancelled, it's out. Also the F2P initiative was a failure so the people involved got let go, the better question would be why they wanted to go down that route in the first place.

Naughty Dog: What exactly was Shu supposed to do about the Hennig situation?

Seriously I'm pissed about Sonys delays more than most people but you're just throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Shu here.

This particular delay is absolutely tactical, they are essentially even admitting it, unless I'm the only one reading

QuoteSince then, though production is proceeding smoothly, the landscape for that release date has changed dramatically.

as "Now we have FFXV as well as TLG releasing in the same week and we see GR2 completely bombing between those two"

But yeah it is a joke and I've been saying this since forever, but hey apparently I'm just overreacting and everybody else is just as a bad as Sony at this amirite guys???

Lordfancypants

You can see why this got delayed but they should have had this type of game slated Jan-Feb to begin with.
Is this where I talk favorably about myself?

you guys can cry all you want but i love that sony has basically stopped releasing games in the holidays.  it compliments perfectly that 3rd parties have basically stopped releasing games outside the holidays.

i will admit that i was diapponted in TLG though.  that should have been this years summer title.

i'm sorry but who's output hasn't been horrid since the ps4 released??  every developer is taking a long dog time to release except maybe ms who is putting out a yearly rehashed forza and disappointing everyone which shaming halo/gears releases.

if that is the standard you aspire to then fudge that noise,.. sony would be better never releasing a game again.

[good, AAA] games take 4 years to develop now. #DealWithIt  #PlayIndies

I was planning on buying this so my GF and I can play it together. I guess I'll probably go for either World of Final Fantasy or SAO: Hollow Realization (if the reviews are decent, that is).

I'm sorry but this is such a BS argument, as if Sony made the conscious decision to stop releasing games during the holidays, they are just unable to hit their promised dates. And third parties are releasing just as many games outside the holidays as Sony is. I mean have you taken a look at Q1 2017? That timeframe is absolutely stacked.

We really shouldn't be applauding Sony for not being able to follow through with what they are announcing.

i don't care.  i literally don't care.  i wish all their games were announced for jan-aug.

a stacked Q1 is soo much better to me than a stacked holiday.  i'm very busy in the holiday period and jan - may is when i game the most anyways.

i lol at your statement that 3rd parties release anywhere near as many games outside the holidays as they do inside the holidays.  Q1 2017 is stacked because of sony not in spite of sony.

this holiday ps4 is getting:
xcom 2
battle field 1
call of duty IW
dishonored 2
final fantasy IX
mafia III
rise of tomb raider
titanfall 2
watch dogs 2
dragon quest builders
world of final fantasy
sports games (fifa 17, nba 2k17, wwe 2k17, nhl17, pro evolution 17) i'll just list these 5 as one since sports games are almost always downplayed

this buy the way specifically did not include all the typical downplays: anything VR-centric, anything not sold at retail, anything not considered AAA, anything too Japonese to matter to westerners, anything remastered, anything dlc or expansion, anything that could be even remotely considered indie, or anything from sony.

applying that same criteria to Q1:
resident evil 7
persona 5
for honor
sniper elite
south park
nioh  (is a strech..)

fewer games and games of less importance to boot.

And once again I could care less.  Too many games in the holiday season as usual. Sony just needs to make sure they have 1 bigger first party game for the holiday season and have good bundles and deals.  Nothing else will matter.  MS are the ones who hype up that the holidays matter the most.  Yes, it is large selling months for both MS and Sony, but its usually the bundles and deals(black friday) that give a lot of sales.
