I hate mobile gaming.
I hate "mobile gaming," but there are still a ton of great games on the platform. As long as the non manipulative games still keep getting made, it can't be that bad.

I wonder what the market will be like in 10 years. Free 2 play skinner games might crash, or something worse might come along. Like do you remember back in 2008 when it started? Cube Runner and PapiJump were my jam hahaha. Or what about Jelly Car? Those games were so stupid yet I have fonder memories of them than anything on DS.

This kinda turned into a nostalgia post...

Nah I didn't get into it until ~2011.  Played Temple Run and a few others.
Haven't played any mobile games in months.

If they force real developers to focus their attention on home console games instead of watered down handheld games then I'm all for mobile games. If they make real devs stick to the mobile platform then they suck.

I love that they forced Sony to stop pseudo supporting their mediocre handhelds for instance, god how I hate handhelds.

If people want to play a big awesome game, they play it at home. If they just want something fun to fit within their days, they play candy crush or monument valley. Portables offer "better" games than mobile, but it's still just a watered down console experience. This middle ground is shrinking and dying.

It's impossible to beat. If they do come up with some super hardware idea, phones will just include it in the next refresh.
and it was just yesterday you changed your mind (again) to say NX was going to be awesome or whatever.  make up your dang mind.

i think dedicated handhelds are quite dead but certainly dying.  i still play my vita thanks to tons of free ps+ games but that's the only thing keeping me from converting to mobile.  lugging an additional device around to my phone sucks.  the games are better but still not great.  the games are god awful expensive too (when not free).  there just isn't much good i can say about dedicated mobile games consoles and i'm an actual gamer.
