Pokemon Go is going to be remembered as the biggest game of 2016. This is huge and still only getting bigger.

It has created a new genre and ushered in a new era of video games. Walking around in the real world and catching pokemon is pretty cool, but doing it with other people is a killer app. "Social AR" I'd call it, and it's so much more valuable than I ever imagined.

They executed it incredibly well.  
Tapping into a gigantic user base, with a gigantic franchise that is incredibly appealing.

My facebook is covered in Pokemon Go by friends, and family who are basically such rare gamers they've likely never touched a game in their life.  

I've never ever ever ever ever seen a game just dominate social media so much.  Not Minecraft, not CoD, not anything.
And it's not just social media popular.  It is actually legitimately huge.

Well I'm not sure what I expected but the only pokestop within about a 20 minute walk of my house is in the middle of the hospital. So is the nearest gym.

Well I'm not sure what I expected but the only pokestop within about a 20 minute walk of my house is in the middle of the hospital. So is the nearest gym.

I have a pokestop just outside my apartment, which means I never need to leave the house for a refill!
