Pretty good considering the supply.

Guess we'll have a thread for this!

OR and Vive numbers are no surprise. These are very expensive niche devices that haven't had smooth launches.

I am surprised with GearVR though. That's quite good.

GearVR is higher than I expected.
Vive is exactly where I expected.

Oculus is a lot lower than I expected actually.  Based on Palmer's comments, the estimate for how many are made per hour, I expected about double that.  But still, Oculus is still a month behind on shipments.

wow guys,.. it's still about 50k a month per device.  at this rate it will take the better part of 2 years to break a million.  you are too easily impressed.

I agree OR is bad. It's just not surprising it's bad.

The tweeter is a VR dev and they kinda match steamspy so maybe reliable.

Are we reading the same thread?  No one seems impressed.

Pretty much every analyst said this was going to be a slow burn to success. These devices were never expected to launch with console-like sales. Especially not the PC devices that cost an arm and a leg right now.

Well two of them are shame and the other is doing decently well for itself although the number of people who actually bought it is probably as low as the others too

We'll have to see how PSVR sells

Those headsets barely launched.

Vive (800$)

Amazon.com: HTC Vive - Virtual Reality Headset: Video Games

HTC Vive Virtual Reality System for PC | GameStop

HTC Vive.com - Not available
HTC Vive (1000$)- Walmart.com
Not found

The only place you can buy it is from Amazon/Walmart for 1000$.  Even as someone who spent a lot of money on a headset, I sure as heck aren't going to spend that much on one.  Doesn't even exist on Best Buy.

Rift(600$)
Oculus Rift with Lucky's Tale Game Black Oculus Rift - Best Buy
Oculus Rift - Walmart.com

This one is also only available for 200$ more than usual right now.  You absolutely can't walk into any store and pick one up.  You might be able to buy a Rift from one of the 50 Best Buys that have one.  Both headsets have had an extremely limited launch, with an almost equally limited supply.

Both of these headsets have pretty much sold exactly what the companies have made.  There is absolutely not enough information to see how much it would sell.

PSVR will have some gigantic advantages over these headsets.
-Available at actual retailers
-200/400$ cheaper
-utilizes mainstream hardware
-Much better brand recognition

What Sony needs to do:
-Actually make some headsets
-Advertise
-Make good games for it

There is a big supply issue.

PSVR is the option for mass market.
