Quote“We’ve worked closely with Sony for as long as the studio has been around, so the past eight years,” MD Pete Samuels told MCV. “I’ve loved it, they are great to work with and we have a strong relationship with them. I think a lot of the work we do with them aligns well with what we want to do and where we want to go. But yes, we are an independent studio and we are keen, going forward, to bring our games to wider audiences than we have in the past. That’s what we are all about right now, and it’s an exciting time for us.”
Supermassive remains committed to PlayStation, however. The firm’s next two games – Tumble VR and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – are exclusive to PlayStation VR and will launch alongside the hardware.
“These games came up when we first started talking to Sony about PS VR,” Samuels said.
“These are games that we can have huge confidence in, because they have come from other franchises that appealed to gamers in the first place.”

I thought Until Dawn was really successful. Seems kinda surprising to talk about this now.

Ratchet and Clank was very successful, we know what Insomniac tried...

it was sucessful.  it was their "big break out success".  they are more confident in themselves than they should be.  success takes a lot more than just making a good game,.. they will soon learn that going multiplat is a lot harder than they think just like insomniac learned.  they might find great success but they'll probably crash and burn.  multiplat just doesn't work these days for the AA developers.  you need to either be a massive AAA game or a small indie to make multiplat work.  the AA games are getting killed out there.  they need the exclusivity to get attention.

seems a bit early for that imo.  their resume isn't all that impressive.

Neither was Guerrilla's when Sony bought them.
