The waggle spin thing and the pointer controls to collect star bits were just too much for the game to be enjoyable.
Meanwhile I loved Super Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario 3D World.
I've heard Super Mario Galaxy 2 has better controls so I want to try it one of these days.

I personally didn't find waggle to ruin the game.
