Song of the deep and Feral rites look cheap. Relatively poor graphics for a studio of their caliber.

The unspoken looks inexpensive. It seems like it takes place in a single arena.

Edge of nowhere looks like its only problem could be length.

Personally it feels like they had a big team working on Ratchet while the other team split up to handle all these smaller projects.

It seems like Insomniac may be trying too hard to be a big presence in the VR scene. That's three VR games now. What I find even more surprising is that they're all for Rift. Backing a device that analysts and the community don't expect to succeed nearly as well as PSVR seems like a pretty big gamble to me given that your studio has waned in the last 10 years. Though it is possible that no one else was willing to work with them on these projects. It's also possible that Oculus Studios paid them a shame load of money to make exclusive games.

well song of the deep is a metroidvania so we know that isn't a big game.

..but insomniac is a 1 game a year kind of studio.  ratchet was delayed and should have been last years big game but that still means this year is 4 games.  what i see is 4 "indie" games and no big game this year.  i was thinking edge of no where was going to be their big game of the year but now i'm thinking no.

Did song of the deep get a graphics overhaul? Looks much better than I remember.

EDT: no, it's just a much higher bit rate recording.

Man Insomniac is a joke. Their recent games must have hurt getting people interested in investing.

A tower defense ratchet game no one asked for. A Co op ratchet game no one asked for. Stupid dog development decisions for Resistance killing that franchise off. Going third party to get as many people interested in their games as possible then letting a focus group change their games name. Then ignoring that at going second party again to the company who was interested in anticonsumerism. Now doing tech demos and indy games. I have no faith in this company
