Answer the Q, and why.

And how do leaks affect a video game?

Depends I guess. If they are a little ambiguous or it's unclear if their sources are legit or not and they thus promote speculation and discussion then I think they are fine to a degree. If they are coming from a source that you know is going to be right and that tells you tons of stuff, or even worse shows you footage or screenshots then that crud can fudge right off.

So taking todays leak, I think what Shinobi did is kinda ok, it's still pretty ambiguous and somewhat makes your imagination race, without straight up telling you what the game is exactly aside from the title.

hate them.

leaks are boring compared to a reveal from a professional marketing team.

I wonder what caused this thread  ;D

I enjoy leaks that are of things far away, leaks of never to be revealed things, and leaks of bad things like the XBO drm.

My problem with Shinobi (or at least my interpretation of him) and some other leakers are that they act like they're part of the game's marketing. IE They're just meant to be teases and to see people (including myself) get excited

i dont mind them aslong as its not ruining an announcement that is just about to be revealed.   and doesnt spill all the beans.    its hard to take to much froms todays leak, and hardly gives any substance, so the surprise is still there, we just now have anticipation.

I wonder. ;)

I seem to think differently about leaks than anyone else here.

I really like leaks.  They sometimes manage to feel more exciting than the actual unveilment.
