I'm out.

No buy.

I need to accept FF died... ops it was killed by SE.

Haven't tried FFXV yet.
I really liked FFX for its criticism against organized religion and the game came out 15 years ago. Wasn't a fan of the voice acting, though. FFXII's voice acting was much better than FFX, but the story wasn't as strong and there really wasn't a main protagonist.

Quote from: DerNebel on Mar 31, 2016, 07:33 PMYeah no thanks, I like FF trying new things with its combat and you shouldn't judge it based on a 40 minute demo, that had only one fight where you could actually take damage and even that was on super easy mode. Dismissing this whole game based on the stripped down battle system of this demo is reacting prematurely.
If it makes you feel any better; the demo that came with Type 0 was terrible.  I haven't played the new demo yet.  But the combat was horrible.  Not sure if they fixed it.

4 points gained at Comg yesterday, think it'll be a lot more today and over the weekend.

Final Fantasy XV's 10 Million Sales Goal Is Just an Objective the Developers Set for Themselves  |  DualShockers

Clarified that 10 million copies are not needed to break even nor for profitibility. It is more a personal goal for the team.

is it really? i can only see that happening if in japan alone it sells 2M+. how much did the last Final Fantasy game sell? Final Fantasy isnt no where near the monster it was back in the PS2 days and early PS3 days.

this is a massive open world JRPG thats been in development for so fudgy long. hell, its was announced 3 years ago. and SE arent going easy with the marketing on this one. i dont see a JRPG doing massive numbers, not in 2016.

but like ethomaz said, this games goal seems to be more on putting Final Fantasy back on the map, rather than being profitable. it will be interesting to see what happens.

I am not sure about North America but Final Fantasy is still a pretty big franchise in Europe and I can see it doing very well there.

For this game to succeed it will need to review well and market it right. I do not think this Final Fantasy is that Japanese that it will put off too many people but word of mouth and reviews are going to key here. When it comes out, people need to be talking about how Final Fantasy is back and almost talk of it like a reboot for the franchise to attract a whole new customer base.
