I don't think it a good idea for Microsoft to talk about the Scorpio when rumor is that it won't release until late 2017. That's almost a year and a half away. That gives Sony an abundance of time to react to whatever Microsoft details and Xbox One sales already appear to be stagnating in the one market it's doing well enough in. It's one thing to talk about the next iteration of your console when it's 6 to 9 months away. At 15 months away you're really risking your sales. Though to be honest, I don't see it mattering either way. By the time late 2017 hits, I'm pretty sure Xbox One will be very low on steam, if not already out.

After Doom, next id Software game will be Quake. Domain updated along with Dishonored 2, presuming a #E32016 preparation.

Yeah, but what you don't understand is that making decisions, that completely invalidate their existence in the console space altogether, are MS' thing right now. If all the rumours of Win10 integration are true then it doesn't really matter if they announce the Scorpio at that point as well, because people will be wondering why the fudge they have an X1 or intended to buy an X1 anyway.

yeah it would be suicide if they talked about scorpio now and released it next holiday, XB1 sales would drop even further than they already are. and XB1 is selling really bad now.

as for the tweet, after the magnificent DOOM, i'd love to see more from ID. but we already know they are making a new Quake game, i just dont expect it to be at E3

Don't think so, that was Neo. Neo for Spring first, then people started talking about it coming later this year, not sure why as there wasn't really any hints towards that other than the "games must ship with Neo mode from October onwards", which doesn't mean what people thought it meant
Scorpio was pegged for late 2017 right off the bat, a cheaper One (Slim probably) was rumoured for this year or early next
