Nikkei: Nintendo Ceasing Wii U Production At End Of Year – My Nintendo News

1. Would say that pretty much confirms NX in 2016

2. The Wii U might legitimately end up selling less than 15 million units lifetime

Edit:

3. Oh and Zelda U? Definitely going to the NX.

Also confirms NX is designed to take over their home consoles.

For a while some people thought this was another third pillar thing.

Poor Wii U  :'( Glad I received one last year not this year.

Not surprising. E3 (or the E3 Nintendo Direct) is going to be very interesting.

Because the existing games are still fun?

Yeah, Mario Kart 8 is a lot of fun.  Mario Maker is a lot fun.

Can't think of much on the Xbox, because it's all coming to PC.  ;)

Why am I getting so much deja vu from this post?  I feel like Tacos posted that exact thing, you posted that exact thing, and I posted something similar, but not exact.

You know, I am really interested in Zelda U, love the artstyle and as a kid I always loved the handheld Zelda titles, didn't have a Nintendo home console after the NES so I didn't play the console titles, so I wonder what I should do about that. I'm not keen on the idea of investing early into a Nintendo console, since, like I said before, I believe those won't be around for much longer unless Nintendo actually learns something, but with this I'm not sure how cheap I could get a Wii U around Zeldas release.

Would Nintendo finally do a pricecut or a firesale to clear stock? I kinda doubt it, I think they might just let those things sit at retailers, who may or may not decide to cut the price themselves. And with stock becoming so limited I could also see used prices for the Wii U rising as well... What a dilemma. :D

I just keep forgetting to try to sell them.

This is why I'm not going to decide on getting an NX until I hear all the details. If it's not region-free, then I'm out. Nintendo Treehouse is notorious for making botched translations and censoring content, so I'd rather support the games at their unbutchered forms.

i'm sorry but didn't wiiU cease production in 2015?
