Jimquisition blasts PlayStation VR Worlds - 2/10

Quote...

For a retail price of $39.99, Sony wants to sell you what ought to have been free for everybody. Hilariously, Worlds is included on a demo disc that comes with the less expensive PSVR option, offering slivers of games that, themselves, would turn out to be slivers if bought.

Worlds does a half-decent job of showing off the potential for virtual reality on PS4, but with the sickening Scavenger's Odyssey and the unreliable VR Luge, it also highlights the system's weaknesses. Meanwhile, anything with a modicum of promise – chiefly London Heist and Danger Ball – barely qualify as games.

If you're opting for the more expensive PlayStation VR launch bundle, then Worlds comes as standard and is worth trying out for a few minutes. I absolutely wouldn't recommend purchasing it separately, though. It's not worth the money, and it's quite frankly insulting that Sony's selling the thing rather than dishing it out to anybody and everybody.

In short, it's a demo that you buy, and not even a good demo. The only reason it's getting any attention or a modicum of praise right now is because it's a launch title with little competition. In time, this thing deserves to be looked back upon with only scorn.

Scorn as both a product in its own right, and a shoddy example of customers being taken for a ride.

Frankly, I hope The London Heist is a stealth tease for a Getaway sequel. At least that would mean this "game" did something notable.

Would be awesome.

I was kind of worried that PSVR Worlds would end up being exactly that...

It's actually quite disgusting what they are charging. I am interested in this game but I was hoping for a lot more than a bunch of demos for a game at that price. I will wait until it's on PS Plus or reduced dramatically.

man, this is coming out tomorrow? dang, i feel no hype what so ever for it. i will be waiting for a long while before i buy PSVR, its just too expensive, and nothing but eve valkrie looks good.

So I'm assuming the reviews for the other notable launch games will come tomorrow or thursday? What a weird way of doing this, certainly doesn't inspire confidence in them.

Eve and job simulator will be the triple A's

Looks like Driveclub's problem is being an intense experience.  Seems like the reviewer tried pushing through nausea.  Very bad idea.  People need to start getting used to taking breaks once the experience gets too intense.

One of the games I played on Rift was ridiculously nauseating.
You tilted your head, to turn around in circles.  I can only play that for a couple of minutes.  Very very very important to take breaks for games that are too intense.
Some people will be able to handle it, others won't.

I was really looking forward to DriveClub, hopefully I can play extended periods of time without getting nauseous. I think the score will increase as the Digital Spy score of 2/10 is pulling the score down with only 7 reviews.

I'm not really sure how easy it is to get "VR legs", but that's supposedly a thing. My recommendation, don't play through headaches, nausea or any head related thing.  Getting sick from VR will ruin other VR experiences as well, because your body gets more sensitive to things it got sick of before.

Rigs is psvr's saving grace. Awesome reviews and being mp gives it much more playtime than everything else.

Cant watch yet, but apparently the demo didn't make then sick.
So something weird between the game and the demo.

Got dang it Sony. This is what a new product doesn't want to get, bad press.

Evolution Studios revenge, lol
