Only RE4 is not crud... the other is a passable experience.

RE 5 was literally the best experience I had last gen.  Seriously me and my friend were so addicted to it.  Plus I was playing it with my cousin where he'd come over every Friday morning and we'd play split screen.  I must have finished Re 5 at least 10 times.  I'd have more fun with 6 if my friend/cousin weren't lazy :/

Well if you like action games I can see that but they iced the gameplay in RE6 in my view.

But RE stopped to be RE after 3.

Overall I think RE4 is a better package for a RE gamer... RE5 and mainly RE6 are not.

Iced what gameplay?  It plays like 90% of the third person shooters that are copying Resident Evil 4 (This includes Gears of War).  On top of that, there's 5 stories in RE6.  A great mercenaries mode, coop, etc.  You can even go into someone else's game and be a zombie and try to kill.  Very few games, have as much content as Re6, period.

RE6 is not supposed to be played like a cover TPS... it is supposed to be an action close melee combat... you don't need even use ammo for all the game... it is fast and easy to kill only sliding and "meleeing"... and it is one of the biggest flaws of the game because it never told you that (no tutorial or situation to use these mechanics).

Playing RE6 like a TPS is just boring and one of it own flaw.

The gameplay is deep and complex but I think it is a issue and not a good thing.

The content is unfocused and looks like they didn't polished it enough to cut the bad parts... most of 4 campaign part are bad designed.... to be fair they could have a better game cutting content and just using the good parts.

BTW the new action direction of RE lose what the Survival Horror that makes RE amazing... the fear, tension and feel of get close to the zombies/monters and be killed was what made it so good... now with action pace you just kill everything like a super hero that feels nothing.

RE4, RE5 and RE6 looks more like a DMC than a RE Survival Horror game.

RE died for me.

PS. That is why the critics and overall fans trashed RE6.

@bold Guess what?  It doesn't.

Re6 isn't boring.  It's pretty dang good.

Content is very focused.  Leon's campaign is 10 hours long, and is essentially what Resident Evil 2 would play like if it had proper controls.  Plus Leon's campaign did a pretty dang good job.  I mean, the way they showed off all those zombies at the beginning, rampaging the city was pretty impressive.  The University, Subway, Church, underground lab, it was literally by the book Resident Evil, and was probably more scary than the original 3 games.  Chris' campaign purposely started off all commando like, because when you get to China by the end of the game your entire party is decimated, and it's just you and your partner.  It's also pretty creepy by that point, and slow paced, just like any Resident Evil game.  Ada's campaign was just as good as Leon's.  The only thing that wasn't like classic Resident Evil was Jake's campaign.  But even still, running through a snow filled mountain with very little visibility reminded me of those old slasher flicks.  Was it survival?  Nope.  Was there horror?  I'd say there was more than the first three RE games, that's for sure.

P.S. if the critics either played the original games, or played Re6, they wouldn't be complaining.  It also sounds like you haven't played Re6 either and have some romanticism of the first 3 games, cause they're not scary, and they're just as cheesy as RE 5.

Strange the releases are coming backwards....

Anyways I guess I should re-play RE4 on Steam and play RE6 now.

Need to find a buddy to play RE5 again with - since the Gold Edition DLC is on Steam now ;o!
