Quote from: Aura7541 on Feb 11, 2016, 10:26 PMSuch a far cry from what Microsoft originally envisioned for the XB1 in 2013. Previously purposed as an all-in-one media box to conquer the living room, it has become a redundant platform. I mean it's great in that more gamers can get their hands on these games, though the XB1's growth will be significantly hindered now that the perceived value has dropped.
it's the one box you'll ever need to dust your living room.  xD

If Microsoft plans to continue any Xbox hardware, I guess they'll do it akin to the SteamBox.

Minimum requirement build $738.00

Intel Core i5-4460, Zotac GeForce GTX 760, Corsair 200R - System Build - PCPartPicker

Recommended $1417.00

Intel Core i7-4790K, MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti, Corsair 200R - System Build - PCPartPicker

Don't think this is really going to have much effect on people buying pcs to replace xboxes.  Unless they start thinking about the long term.

I think the biggest problem with all this goes back to Xbox's design.  If they just designed it as a reference PC, there'd be no issue right now and there'd be a good chance the PS4 would be doing only as well as the PS3.  Instead they made an abomination of a console.  Every "Xbox" game, should by default, be a PC game.

It's supposed to use more (more efficient), so you need a weaker CPU to get the same results.
Etho is talking about the second part.

is ultra 4k? If not that's still pretty bad.

Recomended build

Intel Core i5-4690K, EVGA GeForce GTX 970, Corsair 200R - System Build - PCPartPicker  915

I believe Ultra is 1440p like Romb Raider but the specs are a lot more reasonable now...
