It's not a world feature, you have to look at your save files using the load feature from the menu, I have 140 panels solved, which is honestly more than I thought.

Plant area could have a lot, but the rest of the island has ~8 panels left.

Yeah I wasn't wrong about slim pickings.

Have solved every puzzle panel except one, yet only at 379. Either this door opens to reveal tons, or else there are additional areas currently hidden.

Time to solve this final door!

Edt: haha door had no puzzles behind it.

Gosh darn I should have ~300 left!

my understanding is there is a secret area to unlock but you have to really paying attention to the story clues. at least that is what the guy on the sony podcast was saying. the other guy on the podcast missed it.

Yeah I know of the area. Have found 5 backwards facing doors into it.

Yet to find a way in.
