Yeah I failed with this thread as of late.

Cities Skylines 2 was leaked the other day so whoever leaked that is also legit.

Honestly I feel like there are fewer leaks overall.  
And even the ones that do happen, feel meh.  like this recently.

Last year they posted a new PS5 model was coming around September 2023. That date sure seems to be accurate, but their whole post is about the new system having a detachable disc drive that is connected to the back of the system through USB C.

Now they're claiming that their report has been confirmed despite the new SKU not lining up with their details. "Back then, we also reported that the PlayStation 5 revisiion will not be a PS5 Slim" they proudly claim, yet their first report said "the new detachable disc drive could entail that the new iteration of the PlayStation 5 will be slimmer and lighter." They would have declared themselves winners regardless of what eventually happened.

They're also switching their story to say that the PS5 pops in half and the disc drive attaches directly to it, yet obviously that is not what they first reported. So many people have talked about detachable PS5 disc drives so just getting that main concept potentially right isn't worth much.

I guess we have different interpretations of what the reporting was.  

Like the part where the drive plugs in, in the back. Where is the back? Most people seem to have assumed it was talking about the external back. But I thought it made more sense for it to be talking about an internal back. Remove the face plate and it plugs into the back. Since that would match better with the idea of the drive not looking internal.

A person modified customer accounts on AdWords, what Google's ad platform was named at the time, to manipulate affiliate tracking codes on ads.
The global security team warned that it was expecting a dawn raid of a Google office in Jakarta in April 2017 (a similar incident did happen in September 2016).
Waze carpool's feature leaked the trips and home addresses of other users.
A Google employee accessed private videos in Nintendo's YouTube account, and leaked information ahead of Ninendo's planned announcements. An internal interview concluded the activity was "non-intentional," the report says.
Sabre, a travel agent that Google uses, was compromised and Google employee payment information was exposed.

Of the two I'm aware of, YouTube's second investigation happened soon after the GTA 6 leak, which, admittingly, could have just been a wild coincidence. After all, it has now become common knowledge among those in the industry that many gaming leaks do come from unlisted, scheduled, or private YouTube videos – and maybe the investigation was already ongoing at this time. Nonetheless, the result probably resulted in disciplinary action for one or more people.

Whatever the case, though, these investigations have seemingly done nothing to stop it from happening again.

Sony's recent State of Play was a big eye-opener for me and the most recent example I can give about how widespread this new YouTube leak culture is. Within around 18 hours of the State of Play being scheduled on YouTube, I had four different individuals send me the complete game list. Some game names were slightly different from others, likely because of different regions and the rush to jot everything down to be the first, but they were all generally spot on. One such individual even told me that the information was sold to an undisclosed person for a small three-figure amount, who then told him to spread it to more people for validity.

Why people are simply not being fired for breaking the rules is also a mystery, but perhaps there are so many people who watch this behind-the-scenes content, that it could be impractical to lay that many people off.

Doesn't matter too much when the shows are bad like Sony's state of play, but maybe pubs should start live streaming their pre-recorded videos for the big events again.

MS broadcast their are going full mult-plat straight from Nadella and Spencer's mouths.   i kind of feel like any "insider" claiming to have knowledge of specific games going multiplat is a giant red flag that they are not insiders and instead making some of the most blatantly obvious predictions as a way to boost their batting average...

Good point. Unless they give a timeline, it's a good sign they are jumping on the bandwagon.
