Thank you, foodfather, for reminding me why I don't comment on that forum that much anymore.

People are asking, "why would Sony announce this now, right before black Friday, when sales are about to explode and be more impressive."

I feel like they answer their own questions. In two months from now when Sony announces 36m sold through everyone is going to be impressed that they sold 6m in 2 months.

As for food father... I saw another comment exactly like it on n4g that I responded to.... Can you imagine if Sony only shipped 1m consoles for the holiday period? Holy shame at shortages. It'd be even more than PS4 launch... Which people still deny every happened

ethomaz

30m is a milestone... they choose to release the news the week they crossed 30m.
It is not hard to understand that lol

DD_Bwest

it sets the record straight for where sony was before the real holiday shopping starts and shame gets crazy,  aswell as establishing that its well above the rest, so its the popular choice ;)

And the PS4 couldn't have crossed that milestone at a more perfect time.

It's not just that they crossed the milestone. Sony has waited a few weeks to announce milestones in the past. I bet we'd get sell through even if it was 29.9m

Also, are people really this ignorant?

Really ? I tho the PS2 was the strongest and fastest. Anyways, im pretty sure the PS4 will be the least in the family, i expect it won't ever reach beyond the 86M milestone. Mainly becuz console gaming aint as relevant as back in early 2000s. Beside, even Sony want to kill the console brand and move on to the whole cloud gaming like Microsoft :P.

 Anyways, Congrat SONY!  <3 ya!

I'd presume so, maybe on the lower end of that range. I expect it to be around 19m at the end of the year. It might scrape 20m shipped

The thing with xb1 sales is we have absolutely no clue anymore. It's definitely in the 14-17m range, I think its at about 16m as of now but that's just a total guess really. Its a shame, MS removed all the fun >:(

Yes. 14.6-15.1 range.

Edit actually, 14.8-15.3 if we use the same date as this refers to

Wouldn't it have been at 15m in September?
