Me too - wish all gens were this long ;p

But that doesnt mean that it has to be full 10 years for a new console - I would say 7 years at least and/or 8 years for a new system and then 2 or 3 more years of active service.

Agree 100%. The cycle you outlined is what I want.  The 10 year life cycle includes 2 years of support after the next gen has come out so 8 of its own.
