fudge me! At least they didn't try to spin but that pretty much confirms PS4 is down YOY.

This result is a lot more terrible for PS4 than it is for XB1
But 3 ps4 bundles that sold well are not included.  It's not as doom and gloom as many think.

What's everyone tripping about? These seem to be normal October sales. There are two awesome ps4 bundles in November, plush another 50 dollar cut for black friday, you'd be crazy to busy either system in October.  Next month will be huge for ps4.

PS4 got its first price cut, and during October we didn't know what black friday deals would exist.

Wouldn't you at least expect PS4 to be up yoy?

Not when 3 of the bundles people are buying don't count for the month.

Built up expectations. Due to the early month price cut and the subsequent lead that the PS4 had on Amazon.com for almost the whole month (UC bundle) people (me included) were starting to more and more believe that the PS4 could actually take the month, for it to then not only lose but also apparently at best be flat YoY comes as quite the abrupt call back to reality. Also the standalone performance of the NDC can seemingly also hardly be classified as anything but underwhelming (which we have to admit is rather ironic with all the talk going around of Halo 5 "flopping"), both of those things combined come as a serious downer in what was supposed to be the most interesting NPD in a long time.

The only reason it's down is because of the bundles that people bought last month that don't count till this month. November is going to be huge. And ps4 still did close to 300k, so I think it's doing okay.

There are actually three Battlefront bundles (with one exclusive to Walmart). Hopefully, the PS4 sales were low because they are being relocated to November.

So much rides on November. If those sales cancel out October, we can go back to a healthy industry.

It's likely the PS4 did edge out xbox for the month of october, while pre-orders helped push the xbox ahead for the month.  Same will happen in November for ps4. Every thino is  okay and people can calm down. With out numbers we don't know what uc did, it made the top ten,  was bundled with the system so it did pretty okay. It was never going to be a major player anyway. Uncharted 4 will still sell well. No body needs to worry.

It should also be pointed out that the Halo 5 LE bundle failed to chart in the September Top 100 on Amazon whereas the Battlefront LE bundle managed to chart in both the September & October Top 100. On top of that, the BF LE bundle is just one of three bundles with a November release.

I'm not trying to come off as a "fanboy" or anything, I just would be pretty butthurt if one of the better MP games AND Halo games to come out in a long time bombed because of the stigma surrounding the X1. It deserves much higher than I'd assume it got from all the hints.
I think it's a true return to form for the series in many ways (albeit NOT perfect) and is one of the freshest, smoothest MP games I've EVER played.I'd be VERY disappointed if it performed ~500k for the 5 days it was on sale. I'm HOPING for close to or AT 1m.

You set the bar way too low man.

 Other months there aren't.

That is horribly low, since it'd include digital bundle sales as well.

Hopefully he's talking about AC...
