Wouldn't hold my breath for many 10's. Usually if a game is going to get a bunch of those, it would have already. We're quickly approaching the 30 review mark where the score doesn't change much from where it lands at that point.

True but there are a few waiting for servers which may give a very high score. I know the IGN guy seems to love it

Now wouldn't it just suck if the game has server problems tomorrow. That performance will have a huge impact.

The problem is, Halo 5 needed to be outstanding. It needed to "return to form". It had no competition from any big Sony exclusive for the holidays. This was the Xbox One's last chance to really do something big before Sony's first party starts hammering out games and their third party deals start bearing serious fruit. It also represents a realization that they're going to struggle with for the time being. The realization being that 343i is not the reincarnation of Bungie from the original trilogy years. They have now proven that their ability to recapture Halo's glory days in the current market is not only something to seriously doubt but to even be a safe bet that they never will. In other words, best now to just assume that whatever Halo was it will never be again. This puts a serious damper on any excitement for future entries. They now know for sure that they can't rely on Halo.

What makes this even worse for many of them is the embarrassment of having swore up and down that this was going to be a surefire GOTY and the amount of trash talking they did about the competition. At this rate, it will be lucky to get an honorable mention. That plate of crow is coming their way. The game will still sell millions. It could very well be the best selling game of the holidays. Its score is still great. It's not just the savior.

Be prepared for a metric fudge ton of butthurt. There were more than a few Xbox fans claiming this game to be a masterpiece. If Forza 6 scoring in the mid to high 80s pissed some of them off, this is really going to cause an uproar. Also, confirmed Xbox One still doesn't have an exclusive game with a 90+ critical average yet.

I've actually been thinking about this. What could be MS' first 90+ meta exclusive? Of all the things that are announced I've currently landed on Cuphead...
