As it stands its the worst mainline halo game ever. In fact, the metas have been going down and down and down with each game and this looks like its gonna continue. Not to say doom or anything....

The problem is that this is 343's 3rd game. Halo 4 could be blamed on being their first Halo, and MCC could be blamed on so many things, but a third (relatively) disappointing game shows it's just who 343 are.

Be prepared for a metric fudge ton of butthurt. There were more than a few Xbox fans claiming this game to be a masterpiece. If Forza 6 scoring in the mid to high 80s pissed some of them off, this is really going to cause an uproar. Also, confirmed Xbox One still doesn't have an exclusive game with a 90+ critical average yet.

I noticed this early on with the impression threads, but it felt exactly like the Order 1886 hype thread we had here. In both cases people were just so thirsty for a great game and felt a desire to prove the haters wrong.
