Electronic Arts representatives are currently visiting our studio and meeting with top management. We are not going to release any game soon, so for sure it’s not about any publishing deal, so the only possible reason for EA guys being here is that they want to buy us.”"

That sounds awful.
The update makes it sound false.  Which makes the most sense.

CDPR's philosophy is very very different from EA.  There's no way that'd go through.

Agreed. I was really hoping they'd evolve into the next big publisher, not just get bought up by one.

This makes the most sense.  CDPR has philosophies that don't really match up with EA.
They are very against DRM for example.  When I bought The Witcher 2 on Steam, it came with a code for use on another site for a DRM free version.
They didn't just offer a DRM free version, they went out of their way to give a DRM free version to people who bought a DRM copy.

denials don't mean much.  executives lie all the time to protect their interests.

that said the "informer" clearly was making a presumption about an observation.  maybe CDPR should offer an explanation for why the EA guys are there because without a plausible excuse no one will believe their denials.

Maybe EA want CDPR to make their next Mass Effect game because Bioware is a shadow of their former self?

The plot twist is that CDPR is buying EA!!!!!
