Well I got the stick working, and I'm trying to pack it in the old madcatz case, I want to leave everything there because I want to put it back together once i get a new case. But there isn't enough room to leave all the old stuff in place.

But I was worried about too much heat near the important part of the board. Are you talking about this Philmore 12 Terminal Euro Style 18-20 AWG Barrier Strip

Considering I cracked the other board I decied not to use it at all. If I make another I'll just cut the ribbon and desolder and resolder to the point on the board.

You should get one of these if you need to desolder, after some practice it worked really well.

Yeah the terminal. So the tape on the wires, did you solder the wires together then?

Yeah, its heat shrink. Im thinking ill just remove the ribbon completely and replave with wires.

The box is mostly complete.

I might have to change it though.  The top we cut is 14 inches.  The base is almost 14.  I need it smaller.  I might have to take the front apart and cut the middle piece to fit inbetween the sides.  This will bring it to 13 inches.

So I got it all the wood that I need to build my box I was trying to do it where I could maybe explain to people how to do it with minimal tools but unfortunately the top and bottom will not come in the right size and so that's something that will have to be cut but you might be able to ask Home Depot or Lowe's to cut for you but a lot of times they don't like to do final cuts.

After almost finishing my box, after 2.5 weeks of working on it on and off with my dad (He did the cutting and assembly for me), I'll say it's easier to buy wood from Home Depot and get them to cut it for you.  Would have saved us 2 weeks of failures. I bought the drill bit for the buttons.  1 1/8 inch for Happ.

I just had a hell of a time trying to source some quarter inch round magnets I don't know why I was so difficult to find on Amazon

darkknightkryta

What do you need magnets for?

By Design doesn't allow for hinge  so I'm going to use magnets to hold the top on.

It also doesn't allow for a USB cord either so im going to have to figure that one out.

This is what I got so far. The sides aren't attached yet. And this is what I get to work in when I do projects like this. I'm going to set my garage up in a similar fashion.

darkknightkryta

Fancy.  Better than my thrown together stick made out of desks and other scraps.
