Quote from: Legend on Dec 29, 2023, 04:45 PMIt's on my backlog. I got it free from epic so I bought the first for a few bucks. Enjoyed the first but it was really simple.

I'd say the second is mid also. Maybe a little better than mid and a solid game. I don't know how it compares to the first but the second is good enough to make me want to pick it up for the right price.

Speaking of free puzzle games, Snakebird is free today on Epic. Claim today and it's yours forever.

Finished Qube 2. Difficulty didn't get any harder. Looking at the achievements there are collectibles so now I have to go and get those. There was no sign of collectibles at all. It also says I didn't complete all the puzzles so I'm confused unless it's a DLC achievement.

On to Qube 1, the game is 10 years old so hopefully it holds up.

I requested my first steam refund.

Was super hyped for Shadows of Doubt but my hour with it was incredibly disappointing. Way more restrictive than I expected and just not that fun. Was loading into it to give it a second chance but it had even more stupid stuff.

Glad I bought this Christmas present myself :P

Finished Qube took 5 hours, the puzzles are bit more varied and slightly harder than the Qube 2, especially the last puzzle. I need to get the collectibles which adds a harder difficulty to the puzzles to collect which I really like. I think I could spend another 5 to 10 hours getting the collectibles.

Qube 1 is more challenging and it felt like it had more variation on how to solve each puzzle. Qube 2 remained more focused on the types of puzzles but added more cube types instead of having a clear distinction between the types of puzzles like in Qube 1. Overall both are great games but Qube 2 felt like the better game although slightly less difficult.

Spoiler for the ending of qube 1

Spoiler for Hidden:
I thought I might have had a choice with the ending so I didn't go in the escape pod. I let the game idle to see if I could get a bad ending but nope
Wow. Why is it that high? Going into games blind or something?

I thought there was an option to exit to the side of the pod. I didn't really look, just ran straight to the escape pod

Refund rate is high because I spend ages looking through games using Streams dodgy tags and judge the games by screenshot and short description. Most of the time it's not what I expected or it didn't grip me straight away. But I've found a few gems and the easy refund system means I can be a bit more risky in search of games I might like.

The extra Sector 8 level in Qube is pretty good. It ups the difficulty when you reach the Master Room. There's also 'Tough Going' extra puzzles which sounds like it will be difficult. Having a lot more fun with this game than I expected.

I've started playing evil west. It feels like your typical PS3 game. Which I'm enjoying honestly. Graphics are weak, cut scenes are average. Puzzles are weak. But gameplay is surprisingly very good so far. And the story is interesting. Lore is interesting too.

Overall I'm enjoying it. Let's see how it develops.

If you're up for a typical linear action game, evil west is it.

Sounds good. I totally forgot about that game after its first trailer.

Honestly it's nothing special. It literally feels like a PS3 game. But it's fun, it's free. I have been enjoying these types of games lately. I don't want to spend 40-50 hours on each game.

This game really makes me wish we get a sequel to The Order 1886. Though we know that will never happen

I've been enjoying Evil West. Didn't finish it yet. But it has a good story and very awesome lore. It's gameplay (combat) is very solid as well.

I just finished playing Syllogism which is a walking sim puzzle game. It's a 6/10 game but it was a fun few hours for £4. Each puzzle has 4 pillars with a dial on top that can be rotated into 8 position. There are 6 zones and in each zone the dial is used in different ways to solve the puzzle. A lot of the puzzles are to easy but there are a few that will get you to think for a few minutes and then you have the stars to collect.

It's a game you want to love but it's to much of a cliche of puzzle games and a lot of the puzzles just ain't it. It's till a fun game to explore if you have a few hours and don't want to be tested all that much

Good art style. I'll add it to my spreadsheet.
