Quote from: Legend on Jul 25, 2015, 08:43 PMAmericans love suing people.

For example one lady sued McDonalds because her coffee was hot.

Spoiler for Hidden:
She actually had a legit cause. I've never experienced it since I don't drink coffee, but apparently places make coffee scalding hot and don't expect you to drink it for 10 minutes. That way it's still hot when you get to work. Well this lady was parked at a McDonald's right after getting coffee and the cup spilled on her bare legs. Gave her third degree burns and she needed to go to the emergency room. She asked McDonald's to cover her medical bills but they refused, so she sued them.

However for some reason or another this case became a common example of America's sue happy culture.

it predates millenials actually

McDonalds found that if they heated the coffee to a certain temp (forget the exact numbers here) then they could actually get more coffee served. Basically it was scolding hot coffee not like today though it is still hot. It is also an example of how companies place profit over people as they knew the coffee was too hot, but made them more profit.

Also the conversation was more an satire of PC culture I thought
