no.

remember that one quarter where wiiU had negative shipments in europe?   systems sent back to the manufacturer count against the shipments in that quarter.  if they say 1.4 m shipped that means 1.4 more shipments than returns (if there are any returns).

Plus I'd much rather be on celebrity family feud.

That's what I thought.  Just wondering what max is getting at.

If they are heavily overshipping I can see 3 things.  Microsoft ship far less than usual this Xmas.  Microsoft are taking a hit by funding the fire sales we always see like trade in deals. Or Microsoft is stuffing the channel,  and will stuff again this Xmas with the hope halo 5, bundles plus a 299 price cut can move the massive number of bones shipped.

Part of me wants Sony to keep the price high and go for profit while stretching the lead but another part of me wants Sony to go to 299 to see if Microsoft calls it quits and takes its beating or if they go for broke at 249. That would be insane!

And would result in ps4 and x1 shortages leading into next year.  The whole gen would probably be top heavy too.

I actually made a thread about it on the chertz before it was obvious and was met with hostility.  I don't care, they are legitimate ways to boost financial. But it will get to the point that it will start catching up with them
Well, launching new SKUs does help boost shipments. Remember, not only did MS launch the 1TB SKU, but it also launched The Witcher III bundle in Europe. This quarter, MS is hoping to boost shipments with Madden bundles though based on last year, MS's deal with the NFL didn't do so much.

It's going to be interesting to see the Xbox shipments for this quarter. Obviously, the 360 will be down YOY. Not only that, but last September, MS launched the XBO in 27 countries with the majority of them at the beginning of the month. We don't know how much MS shipped to all Tier 2 countries, but we know that MS shipped "over 100K" in China. We may be talking about the XBO needing to compensate for 300-400K shipments to match its performance last FYQ1.

Kerotan, I'm talking about finding reason to force retailers to take more stock before stock levels are low enough to take more. Sku shuffling and channel stuffing. Imagine what shipments would have been in the quarter Ms released the Kinectless SKU. Every store needed to take more stock if they wanted to carry that model

Yeah it's something Microsoft takes full advantage of . And this quarter they definitely did it again with the 1Tb model.  leaving retailers with all the old models they need to offer discounts to shift .

Honestly can't see them not going HAM this Xmas with a 299 price.  And with halo they can do damage for sure.  in the US at least I hope Sony go to 299 so we can see the true difference between them when priced the same.

However if Sony feel they can sell every last Ps4 they CAN possibly produce at 399 WW they most certainly will.
