Anyone else wish Last of Us 2 or Uncharted 4 should be open world?

The gameplay shown at e3 for Uncharted 4 showed Naughty Dog can build an amazing landscape and that can be said for Last of Us as well.
Would you be up for an open world Last of Us(specifically 2)?

Open world feels is enough. To many games are open world right now. There's nothing wrong with a story driven point a to b game.

I HATE open world for the sake of open world.

An open world uncharted could be wonderful, but it's not something I'd ask for. Keep it linear.

Wide linear is what is best for both franchises.
I think that fits best with what Naughty Dog is going for right now.

I'd love to see them make an open world game, but it's not where I want Uncharted or The Last of Us to go.
Uncharted is all about adventure, and big set pieces.
Putting that in an open world game would require gigantic amounts of work.

(I'd like to note that I'm trying to note a difference between the adventure in Uncharted and the adventure in Skyrim.)
The adventure in Skyrim is awesome because I can go wide, and the adventure in Uncharted is awesome because I can go long.
Skyrim, I can go to this town or this town, but I can't walk for 15 miles.  Whereas in Uncharted, you can't go to this or this town, you can walk for 15 miles.  Like the train sequence!  That was probably "15+" miles.

It's not really something that is compatible in my mind with what Uncharted is going for.  Imagine, how would you pull off these insane set pieces in a game the size of Skyrim?

It's a similar story with the Last of Us, but I think there'd be more potential for open world there, but it's still not something that I want pushed into it.

No. Do what Naughty Dog showed at the end of Sony's conference: have it linear, but give you different ways to go from point A to B. In other words, wide linear.

Edit: Lol, beaten by Pi-guy >_<

fudge open world.

open world is the shittiest game design ever.  it is fluff that gets in the way of actual gameplay but forcing you to walk 10 minutes to start the next mission.   i mean,   how boring would it be to be and explorer of corn fields...

fudge open world.

I think The Last of Us nailed it right.  Even the first Uncharted.

The Last of Us had a great story, and don't feel that open world would necessarily improve upon that. Frankly Last of Us open world would be closer to something like dying light and that's not what I want from a sequel of Last of Us

I'm agreeing with everyone else. These games should stay wide linear, it's one of the reasons I love them so much.

no no no and no.

ND should keep doing what they did with TLoU then uncharted. wider spaces and combat zones, but not open world.
