Denial phase.

FF7R however is huge!!! It'll sell gangbusters on PS4, and a potential XBO port could still do a few 100k at the very least. That'd break even and then some on the port costs.
Yeah, except if Sony decides to pay them and cover the lack of an X1 version. Which would probably cost Sony no more than 30 million tops. They could take a month's worth of PS+ sub money and hand it to Square. Pretty sure after the reactions at E3 Sony is offering Square sexual favors.

So you're telling me Sony employees are cosplaying as crossdressing Clouds at Square HQ? :P

Edit: I managed to find numbers on Wikipedia. Final Fantasy VII sold 9.8 million as of December 25, 2005. Dragon Quest VIII sold 4.9 as of September 2008.
So FF7R is bigger. Yay I didn't get that one wrong! ;)

Oh of course. Would be pretty easy for Sony to lock it up, and pretty stupid for Sony to not lock it up. But Sony sometimes has brain farts.

More like a sausagefest dogpile in a hot tub.

I think it's pretty important that Sony locks it up.

On the Xbox platform, I think it'd sell a million.

We're talking about the biggest Final Fantasy game, with two major bonuses.
First, the game is famous in the Final Fantasy franchise for being the best.  Opinions differ, but that's the general opinion.
Second, a remaster has been on the most wanted list since the PS3 was shown off.
Basically everyone who played the game wants it again, and lots of people who have never played the game know about it now, and they are going to be curious about the game.

I'm not going to say an Xbox port isn't going to happen but the 100k at the very least won't be enough.  There's a very good reason why Square never wanted to remake Final Fantasy 7 with today's production values.  It'd cost way too much.  I'm guessing at least a 50 million dollar budget.  Considering it's harder to get games up and running on the Xone, Square is going to have to pump resources just to get the game at a decent framerate.  Xbox fans won't be pleased.  They will lose money on the port.  I mean, they're having enough issues stabilizing FF 15 and I'm sure Square regrets the Xone port in the first place.  With PC, everything's being developed on it anyways, they'll just release the game in whatever state and be all "Buy a new video card".  Kinda like what they did with Final Fantasy XIII (Game switched development to PC and then ported back to PS3).

No 500k at most.
XBox gamers(majority) only buy racers, sports, and shooters.
With the exception of WRPG like Witcher and even then it looked like it didn't do the best.
All the Final Fantasy Fans are on PS4.

10 million if it's good.

Yeah, even though the PS4 and XBO architectures are similar, porting isn't as easy as drag-and-dropping to a "PS4-to-XBO Port Wizard". We all know that the Type-0 ratio is 4 to 1 in the US and UK in PS4's favor. Just today, Kagari said that worldwide, it's around 90% PS4. You also need to take into account that not all of the 10% that bought the XBO version only has an XBO. There is likely a bunch that have both an XBO and PC.

no idea if it comes to xbox or not but as it stands there is no reason to believe it couldn't.

it's up to sony to lock it up.  frankly, the lock up would be "free" probably in exchange that sony markets the game which i'm sure sony would love to market the fudge out of this game.   sony's got the industry in it's pocket right now due to the userbase discrepancy.  ...and i love it!
