Tarantino should make a star wars film. Itd actually be fun to watch

With Wednesday's estimates, Star Wars will pass Avatar's domestic total becoming the #1 film of all time in America.

It launches in China this weekend too

And it's already very close to passing Jurassic World's global sales for third place. It also only took about a month to reach the domestic sales that took Avatar about 10 months to achieve.

If star wars has as good of legs as Avatar, it'd still have another $400 million to do domestically. If star wars does just half as good with legs, it'll still reach $950 million. Crazy.

I can't help but laugh that I'm horrible predicting game sales, but pretty spot on with movies. Would be so nice if a boxofficemojo equivalent existed for games.

Well you won't be spot on since it will go over 2B globally! Also, you were too low for JW!

I was $13 mil over for opening, and globally I've always pegged it right below $2 bill.

What was I wrong with jw about?

I'm looking at Avatar at the moment.
Was really ready to call doom on Star Wars, but Avatar has a pretty big drop the same week it does.  It's pretty much neck and neck right now with how Avatar was doing at the same time (day to day basis obviously).

Quote from: Legend on Jun 28, 2015, 05:06 PMI bet it'll end at 650 mil in America and 850 foreign. 1.5 billion total. What's your guess?
Quote from: Dr. Pezus on Jun 28, 2015, 11:15 PM~640-650m in America and 1.2B+ foreign.
Both of your predictions were terrible for foreign.  Spot on for Domestically.
Actual foreign:  $1,016,714,301

Averaging the 2 is pretty much spot on.

We should always do that. So SW should reach about 2.25b then
