a shallow MP when compared to Cod or TF or even Evolve. And a shallow SP when compared to TLoU or any other game not MP only
I would say its simliar to Titanfall's content given that it has a single player campaign
Evolve had a lot of  content locked away almost through dlc......

What transversal is there in splatoon? You can move faster through yours and slower through the enemies. Isn't that it?
SP seems heavily puzzle based. Like using the paint to duck under moving platforms. "swimming" up walls by painting them to get to a higher platform.

what i don't get is why nintendo fans think splatoon looks fun.  i watched some of the single player footage,..  squid walk up to ramp. squid paints ramp in order to be able to traverse up the ramp.  kitler53 slits wrists in search of a cure for his bordem.

i played de blop and and never finished because it was such a chore.  splatoon looks even more laborious since the wrong color makes you walk at a snails pace.  dear god it looks horrible to me.

is it really a puzzle if every puzzle's solution is: paint in order to traverse...

true. But I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that it gets more confusing towards later levels. Or else... Nintendo would be completely missing a great opportunity

i really don't think the paint to traverse mechanic is a deep enough gameplay mechanic to build an interesting single player campaign around.  at 5-7 hours i think it is obvious that the single player is tacked on to hopefully quell buyers frustrations when the multiplayer community falls apart a few weeks in.

...but i would never give nintendo the benefit of the doubt these days.  they've made too many half done games that feel more like demoes than games for my tastes. i'm tired of there half assed effort. i get that they need to be profitable but their games feel like mobile trash to me these days. absolute garbage developer ever since the wii/DS era began.

It has all the same ingredients that typical Nintendo games have though. That's why they're hyped.
Thing is, Nintendo knows they wouldn't be hyped if they had made just another FPS/TPS. They needed to make it colorful and weird.

it is colorful,. i'll give you that.  for all the shame nintendo fans give to "brown and grey" nintendo is just as monotonous in their game's aesthetics.

no problem. I was just reading a thread on the chartz and clicked on a link in it of someone talking about it being innovative. All i could think about was portal while watching it. I've watched the announcement trailer and another one that was like a tutorial type video from Nintendo. Other than that today was the first day I watched any footage

Discussion is always welcome.

I'd go so far as to say it's even encouraged!

So all I've been hearing about around the Web lately is how unique and inventive Splatoon is. It seriously just looks like a simpler Portal. Especially in the later stages of Portal. Just add bullets in Portal and BAM a even more complexer version of Splatoon.

I take this as an offense - both as a Nintendo fan and as a Portal Fan.

I love Nintendo and Portal > Splatoon

There I said it.

Come at me bro.
