Now I don't know what to think.
it was fine.  right in the middle of puzzle games i've played.   i just didn't find it that great.   maybe i'm just too good at puzzle games but i blew though this 2 nights easy with no puzzles that really made me think for more than a minute at most.   the "6 hours" to beat was a lot of walking.

miHoYo (Genshin developer) earned $2.3 billion profit on $3.8 billion revenue last year.

Some comparison points:

Nintendo: 3.6 billion
miHoYo: 2.3 billion
SIE: 1.8 billion
Activision: 1.7 billion
EA: 1.1 billion
Take Two:  - 1.2 billion

There are probably some private publishers like Epic, Valve that made more, and there are some companies with more parts to them that made more (Microsoft, Tencent, Netease), but it's hard to say how much they actually made from gaming.

What do the rankings look like if you just count revenue?

Crazy how large the genshin devs are. profit being >50% of revenue on that scale is even more crazy. Tesla for example made $12.6 billion profit last year yet had $81.5 billion revenue.

Not exactly a huge game, but i had the awesome experience to make this game for the Perot Museum in Texas with Groove Jones.

Groove Jones Reimagines Perot Museums Bird Flight Experience

It was really cool to work on.  I created the canyon and stuff with prebuilt scanned assets from the Unity marketplace.  And created all the colorful aspen trees in speedtree.

Nice! First time working with Unity?

Also I didn't know Texas had aspen trees. That's cool.

Nope i've used it before at my previous full time job a few years ago.

And yeah i guess theres one specific area that has aspen trees so they wanted to highlight that in the environment

That's impressive actually. I found a few puzzles a bit of a challenge. I love the game concept and originality which helps make for a better experience.

I feel like I've made a thread about this.

But there are some complaints about games I don't really agree with/understand.

Like a lot of people complain about having to find and use ladders in the Last of Us. And it's like I don't understand being bothered by something that takes so little time.

I totally get it when something becomes a slog, you feel like you've been on a bad level for an hour.

But like a small change in pacing for 1 minute, i don't understand being bothered by stuff like that.

I like the ladders, but I understand having small things ruin games.
