The PC digital market in the UK continued to grow in 2014. The market increased nine percent year-over-year in 2014 to reach £741 million. The same cannot be said for the PC retail market in the UK - it continues to plummet. Sales for PC retail games dropped 30 percent to just £30 million.

Despite the drop in sales at retail the overall PC market increased three percent year-over-year in 2014 to £771 million.

The console market in the UK is almost the exact opposite, with digital sales hitting £118 million in 2014, while retail sales reached £999 million.

The digital market includes the sale of games, DLC, MMO subscriptions, and social games, according to SuperData who compiled the figures. The retail figures include numbers from UKIE and GfK Chart-Track.

Wow, didn't expect the digital PC market to be so massive in the UK. Almost the same size as the whole retail console business. Dang

I come here for console domination... left happy.
PC digital is bigger than any one console. Heck, it's bigger than any console generation combined (8th or 7th)
