first party was invented to create "system sellers" or basically to distiguish why someone should buy into 1 platform instead of another.

putting all 1st party titles onto PC was the biggest reason xbox died as a platform.   yeah a lot of stuff happened but making it so the xbox platform has no games not on PC make the xbox platform have nothing to distinguish it.   in fact PC has more games than xbox so xbox is the lesser platform.

i totally get gamers wishing every single game came to their platform but it's bad business.   each of the platform holder need something to distinguish why their platform is the one people should invest in.

i 110% doubt sony is making enough money on PC releases to justify the risks of having their psn store and ps+ subscription die to a migration of gamers from console to PC.

and especially given how steam is threatening consoles with steam machines and xbox is threatening to "steal"  sony's exclusive via multi store support sony could quickly collapse if it becomes the platform of least value like xbox did to itself.

Hopefully its just a slow down of porting and not a total cold turkey stop on SP games.

I would like to think more that they barely have anything to port over (aside from GT7, Demon's Souls and Astro Bot which all came out around or more than 2 years).

If nothing main SP titles come out this year, then the dream is dead.

(Still sad that Demon's Souls isnt on PC).

I hope ports to pc stop cold turkey.

You'll be seeing fewer single player games arrive on PC.

The decision to shift away from supporting PC was made last year. Naturally, some may still release (pending how far along the ports were) but it no longer appears to be a priority for Sony moving forward.

So it looks like some will still come out, I guess Ghost of Yotei, but  honestly I would sacrifice that for Demon's Souls easily.

not sure if this is pure speculation or whatever but the stuff i read seemed to suggest sony very recently canned some in-progress PC ports.  i think i was grubb that first spoke out late last year that pc was getting deprioritized.  but the sudden surge in discussion spawns from some recent events.

If there was a cancelation GoY would be the most obvious candidate.   as stated above there really aren't that many games left to port without remastering a game from their backlog.

i think we'll see a lot of PC stuff in the likes of death stranding 2, kena 2, steller blade.  aka 2nd party playstation games or timed-exclusives.   it's likely getting too expensive for sony to money-hat a 3rd party game completely away from PC.   but i think their true 1st party (non-GaaS) efforts (saros, intergalatic, ect) are going to stay on playstation now.

i'm okay with that.   not that i'm going to play marathon but a game like marathon lives/dies on having a community.   opening those game up to PC and even switch makes the game more viable and thus beneficial to all.   but sony also needs some system sellers to give their platform a competitive edge for new customers choosing a platform.   exclusive game like GoW and Intergalatic need to exist or playstation will collapse as players migrate to PC.
