Fo sho. But I'll take it.

I'd be fully fine if they sold games on SD cards that only acted as a game key. Just as long as they legally couldn't revoke the license. I want a physical collection.

Let companies dunk on Sony. Hopefully the backlash has them reverse this

It's reminding me of xbox one and used games. something easy for everyone to make fun of.

So I've been seeing rumors that Neil Druckmann may be leaving ND and that the studio could be on chopping block. Sounds like an entirely fake rumors cause I haven't seen any reputable sites or people I follow report on it. First i saw was from 2 days or so again.

All I know is Reddit has a hate rock for Neil.

I just see a few random people claiming it.
It all seems to be 1 random source.

I think it was Schreier, mentioned that Sony was upset with Naughty Dog taking so long to make a game.

I mean I don't blame them, but Sony is the biggest issue with the live service push.

Sony announcing the end of physical media might be the best advertising physical media has had in years.

the phrase is use it or lose it.

people hate that physical retail is dying to and then they go and blow their entire paycheck at Amazon.

you can't demand business supports unviable business models.  tbf you even really buy physical disc games at a physical retailer anymore.  they have all but eliminated gaming and what they carry are peripherals.

Yeah. That's why I'm spending $300/month on movies and shows...

increase that to 3000 and Sony will cancel their plans to deprecate physical media.

I feel like the way people should be protesting is buying more discs. Stop buying digitally.

But it seems like a lot of people are pushing to protest Sony outright, but I think they're just going to look at the numbers and go "oh 90% of our market is now digital. That's even better."

as a guy that hasn't purposely purchase any game physically since the ps3 i cannot endorse this.    i was pretty annoyed when i was forced bundled astro bot on disc with my psvr and that is the only physical game i have between ps4 and ps5.

for all the talk about "preservation" the only "game" i've lost digitally is P.T.   I cannot say the same for my ps3 library.   i accidently lost one game by breaking the disc.  i lost 2 more to a "friend" that never game me my discs back.  with my DS i lost 6 of my best games when i left them on the train.   while technically i still have my entire game cube i have no way of actually connecting it to a tv.   maybe there is some sort of an adaptor but i bought 2 different adaptors for my wii (component and hmdi) and they were more expensive then they were worth.  my mom gave away my nintendo and super nintendo when i was at college.

going full digital has been the best decision i ever made with respect to maintaining my game library so far.

I've gone back to buying discs, mostly for the games I really like/want. And the rest will be digital.
